...for reproductors and microphone. They were placed in front of laptop what is not so handsome. After few hours of initial testing i revealed a small bug - it is impossible to change the backlight intensity for the display. I tried to run a Linux system so i have to write some hints: The graphics card works well with the newest drivers from nvidia. Wifi card has no oficiall drivers from Intel so i tried ndiswrapper which some people made succesfull, ... Read review

Review of Lenovo ThinkPad R61 7732 - Core 2 Duo T7100 1.8 GHz - 14.1" TFT by cindyhigham

Advantages: Fast and reliable
Disadvantages: Screen could be better, not the best design

...world of insurance Toshiba and Lenovo are spelt the same?). Needless to say the chances of me renewing my policy with them are somewhere between sweet FA and Nil. However rant and rage over with here are my opinions and observations of the R61 thinkpad. FIRST IMPRESSIONS ------------------------------- When I first opened the box, my first impression was "Oh my god!, it's come from the Lada car factory. The design has all the finesse of a 1980's ...
...name around, I had not linked it to the IBM brand. However as soon as you look the laptop, it is instantly recognisable as an IBM Thinkpad. Sadly though not in a good way, The keyboard and general layout do look very dated. The only plus point here is that it does seem to be very well built and sturdy enough to take the odd few knocks and scrapes. SPECIFICATIONS -------------------------- Thankfully the performance of the laptop is far better ... Read review

Smart, durable, lightweight design
Review of Lenovo Thinkpad X61 by marcberryman

Advantages: Lightweight design, durable and comfortable typing
Disadvantages: Graphics and sound are average at best

I use this laptop at work and it is the most reliable laptop I have used (I used to have a HP NC6000). The battery life is good and the power management feature makes a big difference to the amount of battery life I get. WIth the standard battery I usually get 4 hours. The screen, albeit small, is crisp and clear. The keyboard took me sometime to get used to, as some keys are in different places than I am used to, but the typing is very comfortable. ...
...expecting and this makes a difference when travelling frequently. I have 2GB memory on mine and I would strongly getting as much memory as possible. Graphics and sound are average at best, as I would expect one buys this kind of laptop for the smart features and lightweight design. If you regularly work on the go I would advise getting the longer life battery, as I manage to get 7 hours out of that. What is also more impressive is that I dropped ... Read review

Lenova ThinkPad R61i 7650 Review
Review of Lenovo ThinkPad R61i 7650 - Pentium Dual Core T2310 1.46 GHz - 15.4" TFT by MaximumFear

Advantages: Easy to use, runs smoothly, good battery life and high quality.
Disadvantages: Some probelms with the wireless adapter.

I have owned several different ThinkPad's over the years. I have enjoyed them all and found them to be extremely useful and reliable. I knew that I wanted a decent quality portable laptop that would be suitable for all the basics. I have been using the laptop mainly for office related items such as documents and spreadsheets but have also been using it to store and edit photographs and videos. So far I have had no problems and that fact that it ...
...This version of the ThinkPad is pretty similar to the rest of the laptops in the series. There is little to no distortion with the screen and it is fairly bright and gives a high quality picture. I couldn't find any problems with the laptop as a whole, nothing is loose or flex's for the most part. The R61 has pretty much all the ports you would expect a laptop to have. There are three USB ports on the notebook, audio ports, a wireless switch, a ... Read review
