I spent a long time looking for a truly portable laptop that would still have a large enough keyboard for heavy duty use, and a large enough screen for watching DVDs, which none of the ultra-portables seemed to offer. Downsides are really to do with Vista, you need to download a patch to ensure the computer will come out of hibernation when you open the screen, and when coming out of hibernation it seems to lose the sound drivers. I would choose it over devices costing more than double (see some of my other reviews), as its a prime example of the manufacturer being on-the-ball and creating a really usable PC at a bargain basement price. brilliant. i have owned five Dell laptops and they have all been excellent. i had one that had a problem, howeveri had the onsite warranty. they were out next day and fixed it in my house. parts and all. they were consistent in their reliablilty and seem that way acroos the range. the smaller models were better than the larger types. i.e Centrino cooler than the P4 versions. this is similar in all Lappys though. i enjoyed the simplicity of setting ...
