Excellent for a budget computer
Review of Toshiba Equium A100-147 - Core Duo T2050 1.6 GHz - 15.4" TFT by Puzzle121

Advantages: Good sound, nice looks, battery life, running speed
Disadvantages: Slow startup, small memory, heats up

I'd only had one laptop before this, and, for the less computer-friendly out there, i'm going to make do without all the 'Intel Celeron' stuff, because i simply don't understand! All i know is that the laptop is Vista Capable. I love my laptop. It's very light, it is very thin, and has a very large screen. It has a black keypad, and silver surroundings, with a large monitor and black plastic surroudings. The outer casing is also black, the top of ...
...logo on it. There are two small but potent speakers above the keyboard, and the mousepad is almost central, below the keyboard, with a touchpad, and a left and right mouse button. There's a small silver on button, which has a big blue light above it - for notification fo when the laptop's on, and there's also buttons below for controlling various media programs - a pause button, a stop button, and also skip button, and a button used for media on ... Toshiba a-100
Review of Toshiba Equium A100-306 - Core 2 Duo T5500 1.66 GHz - 15.4" TFT by JoeG1993

Advantages: slim, widescreen,media aspects, durable.
Disadvantages: Battery life

Great stylish widescreen laptop, with good media features. Theres a set of buttons along the left side of the keypad which control all the activities for playing DVDs. Very slim which makes portability excellent. Excellent durability, i've dropped mine from over 2ft at least three times and its still running smoothly! The speed of shutting down is quite dissapointing although just folding it will put it on to hibernate which is useful and takes up ... Read review

The Toshiba Equium A110-233: Jack of All Trades
Review of Toshiba Equium A110-233 - Core Solo T1350 1.86 GHz - 15.4" TFT by salar15

Advantages: Is more than adequate across the board; very easy to use
Disadvantages: As a result, it is unexceptional in most of its attributes

The Toshiba Equium A110-233 is a very competent all-purpose computer, coming at a very reasonable price (I purchased mine online at Dixons for round about £460). The actual model itself looks stylish enough, though it lacks any particularly imaginative design flair. Suffice to say, however, that it isn't an ugly, clunky beast like some laptops to be found on the market. The screen is perfectly serviceable, with adequate resolution to handle the viewing ...
...laptops of being irritatingly minute. The processing capability of the hardware is certainly fit for purpose too - unless you plan on using memory-intensive games or image-editing software, it should satisfy your needs; certainly if you intend mostly to utilise Microsoft Office, the internet, and other software on an intermittent basis, you should find that your requirements are met with distinction. As regards the battery time - I think the advertised ... Read review

M1330
Review of Dell XPS m1330 by stonecoldkevster

Advantages: Speed
Disadvantages: Crashes sometimes

How do Dell keep doing this, another amazing laptop for people like me to enjoy. This laptop can have an immensive amount of RAM and Hard Drive put in to it and you can also change colour and pattern to severel differant ones. Has a security fingerprint check to get in the laptop or/and in laptop files. Now that is technology so if any one steals it they wont be able to get on it! Also is designed for storing pictures and movies and games and ... Read review

Not a great traveller, but a good mate...
Review of Acer TravelMate 7520-402G16Mi - Turion 64 X2 TL-58 1.9 GHz - 17" TFT by readie25

Advantages: Well-presented, feature-packed laptop
Disadvantages: A touch slow for modern gaming

The Acer Travelmate series come generally very well-equipped to be competent laptop computers for the modern age, and the 7520 is no exception. Using the same Turion 64x2 that is quite standard in its Travelmate range, the 7520 is quick to boot; the 2GB of RAM is quite sufficient for multimedia applications such as watching DVDs - well provided for by a very able DVD drive and a very nicely presented, clear screen. As well as this, the product is ...
...for long periods, with a great touchpad. However, the screen is quite easily scratched and the battery life is really rather poor - typically you can expect approximately 80 mins on 'high performance', or longer on the more frugal but less useful 'balanced' and 'power saver' options. A great value laptop, and a very good buy ... Read review
