Disadvantages: positioning of fan

I bought this 9 months ago and I have been very pleased with it. The spec is; intel celeron 433, 6.2gb hard-drive,64mb sodimm memory with two spare slots( hidden under the keyboard), Lion battery (giving approx. 3 hours use),24 speed cdrom. The only bad point that I have about this laptop is the positioning of the fan, underneath, as the feet of the laptop do not allow much space for a good flow of air. Advantages: Small, Light and runs Windows XP
Disadvantages: Under powered and runs hot

The Notebook is SMALL and LIGHT that's it main features. 25.7cm x 21.8cm and only 1.4kg. The processor runs at 300Mhz and the device will probably come with a 6GB HD. The Laptop runs hot and the fan never really stops. The standard package comes with 64MB of memory and can be upgraded to 192MB. I have a 128MB upgrade chip installed, bringing it up to 192MB. ...then make sure you have the latest drivers for the external CD-ROM and remove the extra memory before the upgrade. As I remember, at some point it failed because it couldn't address the extra memory. With XP loaded reinstall the extra memory and the system will discover it. Disadvantages: Battery life is about 1 hour, Low spec by today's standards

Disadvantages: Closing the machine isn't as simple as it could be.

The Sony Vaio PCG-X18 is a wonderful thing. On joining my current company I requested this machine, not expecting to get it and was amazed when it was sitting there waiting to be used on my first day. The ibook is a great product but for someone into graphics I believe I want just a bit more] as far as screen size. I have the 12.1" screen size model. As always the ibook processor is untouched by any pc and the graphics card is great for a laptop. I run all the adobe programs and some of the microsoft office programs and macromedia programs, I have had no complaints. As for the details here you go.
