NICE HOTEL AND GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY
Review of Adria Hotel, London by
SHAR-RON
Advantages: VALUE FOR MONEY, CLEAN & CONVENIENTLY SITUATED
Disadvantages: NO OFF ROAD PARKING
The Adria is a nice little hotel which is conveniently situated a couple of minutes walk from Hammersmith tube station. We found it great value for money, paying £65 per night for an en-suite double room which was basic but comfortable, very clean and had tons of storage space, something i've found to be missing from other hotels i've stayed in. There is a choice of continental or full English breakafast (£3 and £5 respectively), we went for the ... ...The only negative about the Adria is there is no off road parking and the car park across the road is very expensive, but we found that if you park in the streets at the rear of the hotel, Sat and Sun parking is free which saved us a fortune. Would definitely recommend to others. ...

Stop off before Heathrow
Review of Airways Hotel, London by
serendipity7
Advantages: close to paddington, cheap
Disadvantages: tiny rooms, poor bathroom, old
I stayed at the Airways hotel before catching an early morning flight from Heathrow. Its proximity to the station makes it ideal for exactly this purpose with the Heathrow Express leaving during the day and most of the night. The room rate was also very reasonable (£35 booked in advance via reservations website). However the rooms are very small, it's noisy and old and the single room at the top of the house has the most disgusting bathroom I have ...

A summer at Alexander Fleming Hall
Review of Alexander Fleming Hall, London by
Tracita17
Advantages: Sharing a flat and kitchen with other travelers while still having your own room
Disadvantages: A little old and worn, no air conditioning, mice in the kitchen
I stayed in Alexander Fleming Hall for a month and a half in summer 2007 while studying abroad at another university in London. Thankfully I read the other review on this website before going. His instruction to "go to the back door of the Holiday Inn" is exactly right. When standing with your back to the Holiday Inn at the back door you are looking directly at the hall across the little street in front of you. The area of Hoxton has a wild nightlife ... ...interesting people and great street art. Old Street station is close, but why not walk where you're going? It's gorgeous all the way! The City and Spitalfield Market and other cool things to see are all rather close. I kept running into Banksy art accidentally, which was really cool. Any time the sun comes out people flock in groups to Hoxton square, a block away, and open up bottles of wine and snacks together. Americans should be informed though ...

London on a shoestring.
Review of Alhambra Hotel, London by
Jen1978
Advantages: Great prices, centrally located.
Disadvantages: Small rooms, not wonderful location for some people.
Basically, if you're considering staying here, you probably have a small budget. If this is the case, I can reccommend it as it is great value for money. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms are basic yet clean, and the breakfast is great (I am vegetarian so they cooked me a full veggie breakfast every day but there are quite a few options).
The hotel is spread over 2 separate sites, across a small road from each other. We were ... ...hotel building, which is where the reception and breakfast rooms are. Our room was a basement room with a small window which had views of the pavement and peoples' feet! The room was pretty basic but clean. We had a double bed, wardrobe, drawers and a tv. The bathroom was tiny but again, clean. There aren't kettle in the room but you can borrow them from reception free of charge. The rooms are quite nicely decorated (quite twee and homely) but we ...

A Night at the Hoxton
Review of Hoxton Hotel, London by
mynameisrui
Advantages: Great location, friendly staff
Disadvantages: none
We recently stayed in the Hoxton Hotel a few weeks ago after getting it in one of their £1 sales (I'll come on to that later) and we loved every minute of it!
The hotel itself is still fairly new and calls itself an 'Urban Lodge'. It only opened in late 2006 and for a long time was booked up solid due to a lot of good reviews from the press and customers who managed to get a room there. It is located just by Old Street station with exit 3 being ... ...3 months of so the Hoxton hotel has a £1 sale where they release 5 rooms per night at £1 to be booked over a 3 month period. For example, they had a sale in April where you could book rooms between 1 May - 31 July. They only have 500 rooms available so you need to be quick. They recently had another sale for 1 August - 31 October and all the rooms sold out in about 20 minutes. At the same time as the £1 sale, they also offer a further 500 rooms at ...
