This works!
Review of Homedics SBM 200 by
Suzanne57
Advantages: It works - relieves tension - increases blood flow - relaxing
Disadvantages: A suitable chair is needed - can be painful
I regularly suffer from mid-back and shoulder tension causing painful muscle spasms, and also lower back ache.
This massager is a product that actually works for me.
I am very sceptical about complementary medical products but was influenced by trying a demo one in House of Fraser. I reasonsed it must be robust or they would not have one in daily use in store! The unit is well built and feels of good quality. The massage given is deep and powerful. ... ...This is a useful facility when you want to target a specific area. You can feel the various pressure points moving over your back and this can be painful over muscles in spasm - but you can lift your back slightly away or wear a thick top to minimise the pain until your muscles start to relax.
What else can I say other than it works. It certainly helps relieve my muscle tension and the increase in blood flow it stimulates is very beneficial to the ...

Massage me!
Review of Remington BP600 by
charlotte_thomas
Advantages: Relaxing, easy to use
Disadvantages: takes a long time to charge
Remington BP600 Bath Massage Pillow
The remington bath massage pillow was given to me by my boyfriend as he had aquired it some time ago and never used it, during a big clearout if I didn't take it, it was going to be binned! What a waste that would've been! The pillow is from Remington's Spa Therapy Collection and other products in that range are bath spa's, foot spa's and other massage products. I havn't seen this particular product in stores ... ...year manufacturers guarantee.
The Remington Bath Massage Pillow takes twelve hours to charge completely and the charger is inserted at the back of the pillow. The cover fastens with velcro at the rear and if you pull the velcro apart, underneath is a waterproof plug guard that when opened reveals the charging connector. The pillow cannot be used whilst the charger is plugged in. You do need to remember to put the plug guard back in when the you've ...

inefficient , a waste of money
Review of Babyliss BODY Toner by
gijoe1974
Advantages: easy to handle, clear instructions
Disadvantages: inefficient, does not provide any kind of massage at all
I bought the Babyliss Body Toner at Boots for £19.99 last Christmas. I was looking for an easy to handle massager that would give me a strong and invigorating massage. This item seemed to be it. It has 2 settings: low setting for a relaxing massage (head massage) and high setting for a strong, toning massage. Before you can use the appliance, you have to plug it in for 12 hours. Once fully charged, I decided to give myself a hips and thighs toning ... ...manual itself is clear and compact). And there it was: I could not feel a thing. So after a couple of minutes I decided to speed up the process and go to the higher setting. Not much a difference it made. It was all too gentle to have any effect at all. That night, not to be defeated too easily, I plugged it in again for a full 12 hour charge. The next day I repeated the experience on my partner who suffers occasional back pain. I started on his ...

Works, but not how it's intended
Review of Scholl DR1136 by
DAkuma
Advantages: deep kneeding, can mend sore muscles
Disadvantages: too simple, very bulky and heavy
...£99 from Argos (was not available when I bought the Scholl), as it has a revolving action as well as up and down, and various settings to create myriad sensations. The Scholl has a simple on/off and you will find you will get used to this (and desensitised) very quickly. ...

A little rigorous rubbing makes me ooh and aah
Review of Homedics SBM-300 by
sparkled_pixie
Advantages: Easy to use, effective, easily accessible, versatile
Disadvantages: None what so ever
...a friend told me about Homedics SBM 300 which is an American invention which she uses to cure her backache being heavily pregnant. So I took her advice and ordered one from Amazon at a coast of £140 and waited with excitement for the day it arrived so that I could test it out.
Homedics is in essence a cushion which is shaped like a chair without legs; it actually reminds me of a car seat. However it has been designed this way so that is can be used ... ...back ache but with this Homedics cushion it does exactly the same job, except I have probably saved myself money in the long run. I have been using this machine daily now for just over three months and I love it. The one suggestion I would make to anyone who is thinking of buying one is that for the first two or three times you use it fold a towel in half and place it over the back of the cushion because the massage is quite intense and powerful ...
