After many years of being with Nokia and finding them increasing annoying, I finally decided to jump to a different brand and after reading about the 5 mega-pixel camera on this phone, it seemed like a winner. ...is fantastic. The earphones that Samsung provide are reasonable but not great. I read a lot of bitching about the memory limitations of this phone. For me, the 70mb onboard is fine. I don't need a memory card with 1000 songs on it. Who does? I can put a new album on the phone each day and still have room to take 20 or so photos. I'm not a teenager so this suits me fine. ...the camera. The video quality is average YouTube video quality. Hardly worth watching. The keypad on the U100 takes some getting used to. I'm not fluent on it yet so I can't really judge it. The call clarity is great. The reception is great. The "loudspeaker" isn't very loud. To be honest, I bought this phone because of it's novelty factor and it hasn't disappointed. It's great fun. Disadvantages: Customisation is limited, settings can be fiddly, no dictionary for predictive texts

I got this phone as a replacement for a Sony Ericsson K310i on which the joystick had failed, and overall I have to say I'm fairly impressed. It's a very simple model with few bells and whistles that exists mainly to do its primary jobs of calling and texting (except for standard organiser, alarm, voice memo and currency convertor features). Great design, colour and useability! Truely a 'one in a million' Brilliant battery life, great features and a very good buy for your money!! Room for a SD card for extra memory (and when i say 'extra' i mean ALOT!!) Bluetooth comes in very handy as does the camera and the video and voice recorders. ...you only have a small choice of text tones and you cannot set your own tune for a text.
