Looks can be deceiving
Review of Motorola SLVR L7E by flamesk

Advantages: Great picture quality
Disadvantages: Not durable

I loved this pone when I bought it, it is value for money until it drops. I have droped this phone once, and now the screen goes blank every couple of minutes. It is rather had to send a text as everytime you are half way through it goes blank and you have to start again. This is very annoying. I noticed to that since this started happening thr eception quality has gone down. However other than this the picture quality is quite good and the sound ...
...stand the test of time or aleast nine months. My sister has the same phone with the same problem. So as I prepare to return it.I am considering whether to stay with motorala or ask for another brand. It is a good looking phone that is why I got it. But I expect my phones to last me at least a year. If there is a chane that you might drop this phone then my advice is, don't buy it. ... Read review

Motorola V220
Review of Motorola V220 Virgin by susiek

Advantages: Easy to use and looks great
Disadvantages: Small screen, not much memory

I have had this phone now for about a year and I haven't regretted buying it once. It is small and compact so it will easily fit in my bag. It is also very stylish with a perfectly working flip. On the other hand, there are drawbacks with this phone. It doesn't have any additional features that you would expect for a phone these days. It doesn't have bluetooth or infra red. It also doesn't havce a video recorder or a sound recorder on it. The quality ...
...also very poor. This phone is ideally suited for someone who wants a reliable, easy to use phone without any gadgets. I am sure that when I buy myself a new phone, I will be passing this one on to my parents as it is even easier to use than their Vodafone simply! ... Read review

NEO 808i - super compact GPRS/GSM mobile phone
Review of Neo 808i by Ochiatto

Advantages: Compact size, full phone features.
Disadvantages: Severe lack of good PC connectivity, poor/bad talk time, drops calls

...for Windows XP only. NEO seem to have missed that the vast majority of new PCs/laptops bought over the last year all shipped with Vista pre-installed! And Macs generally ship with Mac OS ;-) Ever wanted to spend a full day on Sunday beaming/manually entering your 500+ phone book entries!!? That's what NEO expect you to do if you don't want to use Windows XP!! Contacting NEO to ask about Vista/Mac support resulted in a very unprofessional and offensive ...
...to think about charging the NEO if you use it like any other phone. (No surprise they provide a second battery and USB charge cable with the product - but you can only charge the batteries when they are in the phone - there is no desktop charger!) Call quality is quite good, but it does tend to drop calls a lot more frequently than my HTC Touch or Sony Ericsson Walkman phones, especially in low signal areas. Overall, as NEO have stated, this is ... Read review

Semi-rugged looker, with safety concerns.
Review of Nokia 5500 Sport by tiddlekins

Advantages: Good compromise between ruggedness and looks
Disadvantages: Safety concerns - mild electric shock. Neither properly rugged nor high-end.

...be compulsory! However, my first Nokia 5500 gave me a mild electric shock whilst charging! I got it replaced, presuming it was faulty. The replacement did exactly the same! feels similar to the sensation of having a 9V battery attached to your tongue. I am concerned but putting up with it. It's a bit slow, and only holds details of the last time someone called you (as opposed to 5+ times), but other than that is the best and best-looking semi-rugged ... Read review
