Another great bit of kit from Samsung
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 2232BW by paulpemby

Advantages: Larger Screen, Fast Response Speed, Vivid Colours
Disadvantages: Gloss Frame attracts lots of dust

...17". The colours on the Samsung are much bolder and clearly defined due to the high contrast ratio. This panel has a 2ms response speed which makes it perfect for even the most serious gamer. Although the unit is feature packed and of excellent quality the suprisingly slim casing means that you don't have to sacrifise that precious workspace to benefit from the larger screen size. The only minor bad point I have about this monitor is the way that ...
...everywhere. Samsung do provide you with the special cleaning clothes so you don't spoil the finish but you may find yourself cleaning it every day. No matter what your intended use, wether it be large spreadsheets, graphic design or gaming, this panel that function exceptionally well in any situtation. ... Read review

A Great Companion for middleweight PC Users
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 193V by Hypernation

Advantages: Light, reliable, long lasting, low energy consumption
Disadvantages: Displays slightly out of focus, colours are slighlty blue saturated

I have had the Samsung Syncmaster 192v (19" screen) for 3 and a half years now in conjunction with a Mac Mini by Apple. Having used it for a multitude of different purposes, I will endeavour to explain all the benefits and drawbacks of this monitor. COST First thing I did, of course, is buy it. At around £300, it was one of the more expensive in Dixons, but then again, Dixon's is expensive. At time of writing (June 2008), one of these monitors ...
...me use something like this Samsung and its standard port, and it's excellent. Ypu also get some software that runs on Windows based PCs that allow simple calibration. You will most likely never need this as it's a plug and play monitor, and this bundle was added in as a needless value-add for techy-heads who really want to fiddle with settings that mainstreamers will never bother with. You can angle the monitor from a flush 90 degree ange to the ... Read review

Best CRT ever made!!!
Review of Sony PremierPro GDM-FW900 by ysith

Advantages: Incredible range of resolutions to choose, perfect for anything - especially games
Disadvantages: Big (expected from a CRT) and very, very heavy

This is the perfect monitor. It has a big flat wide screen great for movies, games and all other sorts of office works, including graphics design and surfing the web. The only disadvantage this monitor has is that it is big and very heavy (but once you have your monitor on your desk how often do you need to move it?). The biggest advantage would have to be it's ability to display all sorts of different resolutions. As it is a CRT is has no native ...
...monitor however does have a native resolution which means it has only one resolution which it will display properly, all the other ones it only simulates which leads to terrible picture clarity. You may be thinking; why on earth would anyone want to lower their resolution? and the answer is to play newer games. Games are requiring more and more graphics power to play these days and it becomes even more difficult when you want to play it on your native ... Read review

Asus 19" Screen
Review of ASUS VW192S by smifo

Advantages: Quality item
Disadvantages: None to date

...and side by side this Asus is brighter, sharper and has a cleaner design. My son decided to try his 360 on it to see how it looked and it looked so good that it's been attached to it ever since. So now I'm gonna have to buy another one to give me the use of my pc back! When I look at some of the newer 20-22" screens, with the glassy finish they look great, but surely you get a lot more glare and reflections on them. These come in black or black. ... Read review

Excellent monitor for the price
Review of HANNS.G HC194D by dc6118

Advantages: Cheap, clear display
Disadvantages: Poor colour contrast for video

Bought this over a year ago as part of a computer build, and it is still working as well as the day it was purchased, very good monitor, even now. Only fault I have found is the colour/contrast while watching video or film seems all wrong, and try as I might can't correct it (dark scenes are almost impossible to make out). Apart from this it is a very good monitor for general computing, display is very bright and crisp, and I have never experienced ... Read review
