Good Value
Review of Acer AL2223WB by jooiv

Advantages: Low price, high quality colour reproduction, good viewing angle range
Disadvantages: Silver edging looks cheap, fragile

I have been using this screen constantly for the past three months, on a GeForce 8800GTS graphics card, and so far I can have no complaints. Colour reproduction is excellent, and the viewing angles are fantastic. Standing up or sitting down - I can always see what's going on on my screen. Originally I bought this screen to be used as a secondary monitor, but within a week I had changed my mind, and decided to use it as my primary. Although I got ...
...would still say it was excellent value for money. Colour reproduction competes with much more expensive screens. However, I have only given the product 4 stars because of its aesthetics - the silver outer shell of the screen does, in my eyes look quite tacky. However, this does not detract from the quality of the screen itself, so all-in-all, I would wholeheartedly recommend this product! ... Read review

Great Value for Money
Review of Acer X221W by daveyboy1981

Advantages: Huge Screen and great picture quality
Disadvantages: none experienced

I bought the Acer x221w after much agonising regarding the upgrade of my monitor and am happy to say that it is the best PC purchase that I have ever made. If you are looking for a big monitor with a small budget then I totally recommend going for this one. The brightness and picture quality are excellent, particularly for gaming where it has functioned at 1600:1200 resolution on a number of games (above the spec of 1680:1050) with brilliant results. ...
...and the colour quality is great. While it is a big monitor, it is not comedy big, and does not look out of place in my small home office space, and reflecting on the previous monitor that I had, I cant believe I thought about it for so long before taking the plunge. 5 star for value for money ... Not up to it for me
Review of Asus MW221U by wate1234

Advantages: large screen & built in speakers
Disadvantages: Bad colour rendering not crips black

It was well reviewed so I bought it sight unseen - stupid I know but done now. The physical appearance is fine but for word processing (and a selling point was having two pages displayed at a time it is appalling). It does not do crisp black and white. The blacks are greenish or after adjustment reddish but never black and with the reddish blacks the presentation of characters in a red font is weak. The colour rendering in my old (12 year old) Samsung ... Read review

BenQ...putting the S in Satisfactory!
Review of BenQ G2400W by cobainkurdt

Advantages: Nice sleek design, colour performance!
Disadvantages: Quite a few!...no audio loudpeaker !!!!!

...my best friend has this BenQ wide format TFT screen. This multiple use screen can be used for a variety of tasks: from checking your email to watching a HD movie or even playing HD games via the HDMI port.. Also, its relatively cheap! However apart from the above advantages there are no other advantages (I watch movies, play games and even surf the net on the monitor every other day...so believe me when I say there are no other major advantages.) ...
...(you can see why it is relatively cheap)....(But I believe for what it's worth, it's very overpriced should be 180-220 pounds!.) Basically one of the biggest disadvantages is that this TFT monitor posseses no audio loudspeaker! Therefore you have to either buy a seperate speaker system or use headphones ( my friends bought a wireless system which allows us both to listen to the monitor....however the price is quite dear!....BenQ certainly did not ... Another great bit of kit from Samsung
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 2232BW by paulpemby

Advantages: Larger Screen, Fast Response Speed, Vivid Colours
Disadvantages: Gloss Frame attracts lots of dust

...17". The colours on the Samsung are much bolder and clearly defined due to the high contrast ratio. This panel has a 2ms response speed which makes it perfect for even the most serious gamer. Although the unit is feature packed and of excellent quality the suprisingly slim casing means that you don't have to sacrifise that precious workspace to benefit from the larger screen size. The only minor bad point I have about this monitor is the way that ...
...everywhere. Samsung do provide you with the special cleaning clothes so you don't spoil the finish but you may find yourself cleaning it every day. No matter what your intended use, wether it be large spreadsheets, graphic design or gaming, this panel that function exceptionally well in any situtation. ... Read review
