Review of Apple Cinema Display by
intelligents
Advantages: excellent quality, USB and Firewire ports, better than competition
Disadvantages: cabling, more exepensive than competition
I'm an Apple user through-and-through. Though I'm writing this on a PC! I bought this screen to go with my G5 Powermac and installation couldn't be easier. When you first set eyes on it you can't help but admire its elegance and design. Its clarity is superb and you can view it from almost any angle without a substantial loss of quality. The depth and contrast is perfect for photo editing and gaming. Its fast response also helps with fast moving ... ...laptop and, having used the Apple screen, i struggle to use it for video editing. It's just too cramped. The Apple screen gives you loads of space and feels quite 'airy' - if you see what i mean. Another nice feature is the USB (x2) and Firewire (x2) ports on the back. These make up for the lack of slots on the computer.
One tiny issue though is the amount of cabling. When set up you'll have a power lead, USB and Firewire cables and the DVI cable ...

Superb Product
Review of BenQ FP93GX by
kammakjuj
Advantages: crisp display, fast response, almost everything i can think of!
Disadvantages: 4:3 aspect
Just got this recently to replace my old Belinea 101530, and it was an excellent replacement. I was a bit sceptical about getting this when I was looking about, I saw the specs and say that it had response time of 2ms, great but the contrast ratio and brightness were not the best I'd seen on the net. Got the monitor and was not disappointed in the slightest!
There really isn't much to say about this but I'll try...
The monitor has a 19 inch screen ... ...this monitor is 1280x1024 which doesn't seem much better than older monitors but is adequate for the size of the screen. The brightness of the monitor is excellent, watching videos on the computer is now far more enjoyable now that I can actually see all the detail! As normal the brightness and contrast are set half way, I found that I had no need to change this, I did experiment with different settings but the default is fine. The only disadvantage ...

Review of EIZO FlexScan S1911SH by
neo1983

►► ► Introduction to EIZO (I love the name)◄◄◄
EIZO is a Japanese company with the main business activities in development, design, manufacturing and sale of display monitors and peripherals, amusement products, and imaging system software.
Working with LCD monitors I've noticed that this company produces monitors of great quality sometimes even at the same quality and performance level as Samsung, LG or others ... ...rated at 45 Watt of EIZO FlexScan S1911SH is just great. The power consumption in stand by / sleep mode is just 1 Watt
►► ► Warranty ◄◄◄
▬ Service & Support: 5 years warranty - just great
▬ Service & Support Details: Limited warranty - 5 years
►► ► Price ◄◄◄
The price varies from 298,85 EUR to 340 EUR and i think is quite high for an LCD monitor but quality cost.

Another great bit of kit from Samsung
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 2232BW by
paulpemby
Advantages: Larger Screen, Fast Response Speed, Vivid Colours
Disadvantages: Gloss Frame attracts lots of dust
...17".
The colours on the Samsung are much bolder and clearly defined due to the high contrast ratio. This panel has a 2ms response speed which makes it perfect for even the most serious gamer.
Although the unit is feature packed and of excellent quality the suprisingly slim casing means that you don't have to sacrifise that precious workspace to benefit from the larger screen size.
The only minor bad point I have about this monitor is the way that ... ...everywhere. Samsung do provide you with the special cleaning clothes so you don't spoil the finish but you may find yourself cleaning it every day.
No matter what your intended use, wether it be large spreadsheets, graphic design or gaming, this panel that function exceptionally well in any situtation. ...

A Great Companion for middleweight PC Users
Review of Samsung SyncMaster 193V by
Hypernation
Advantages: Light, reliable, long lasting, low energy consumption
Disadvantages: Displays slightly out of focus, colours are slighlty blue saturated
I have had the Samsung Syncmaster 192v (19" screen) for 3 and a half years now in conjunction with a Mac Mini by Apple. Having used it for a multitude of different purposes, I will endeavour to explain all the benefits and drawbacks of this monitor.
COST
First thing I did, of course, is buy it. At around £300, it was one of the more expensive in Dixons, but then again, Dixon's is expensive. At time of writing (June 2008), one of these monitors ... ...me use something like this Samsung and its standard port, and it's excellent. Ypu also get some software that runs on Windows based PCs that allow simple calibration. You will most likely never need this as it's a plug and play monitor, and this bundle was added in as a needless value-add for techy-heads who really want to fiddle with settings that mainstreamers will never bother with.
You can angle the monitor from a flush 90 degree ange to the ...
