In you Palm
Review of Palm Tungsten E2 by
donf18
Advantages: A neat unit with lots of applications
Disadvantages: None
The Palm Tungsten is a sleek cool looking handheld with a vast array of features that are going to suit the majority of users. It comes with most of these features pre-loaded, but there are more on the provided CD which also contains the software to enable synchronization with your PC or Mac. Also provided in the box are several power adaptors which will make in rechargeable almost worldwide. Although the unit comes with Bluetooth there is also an ... ...on the rear of the Palm Tungsten.
The screen is divided into two portions the upper part is the main visual part whilst the lower in for inserting you data by way of using the pen. This is made easier by the supply of a sticker which comprise of the methods used to write letters and numbers which will be easily translated by the unit. For the most part this is simply normal writing but there are a few differences which are adjusted to fairly quickly.

Ageing, but still invaluable
Review of Palm V by
TallTone
Advantages: Fits your work and social life into a small portable space; wide range of downloadable software
Disadvantages: Handwriting recognition not perfect
OK, so the Palm V isn't exactly the hottest new thing on the planet. I've had mine for about eighteen months, and it's still going strong.
It's all there - address book, date book, to do list, notepad, calculator. If that isn't enough, hook it up to a PC and you can also download a variety of programs (and there's some good shareware out there) to do anything from play chess (there are plenty of games) to provide recipe ideas. You can send e-mail ... ...of your inbox. And of course, you can keep all the basic application data in step with Outlook (or just about whatever you use).
It's not all been sweetness and light though - the handwriting recognition is not perfect although quite adequate; I've also had a couple of problems with broken buttons, but warranty replacement has been fairly swift considering (about a week).
However, the real reason that I thought it worth writing an opinion on an ...

I wouldn't buy one again
Review of Palm IIIe by
claireq19
Advantages: Easy to use, easy to read, lots of functions plus downloads available
Disadvantages: Flimsy, batteries run down really quickly, the colour is a bit naff
I bought this with a view to using it instead of a diary but it really doesn't make a very good substitute.
I opted for the light green version which looks cheap and nasty but it was the only colour in stock at the time. The first thing that struck me was the fact that the fold-over cover wouldn't last long - it didn't. The little stylus is a devil to get out of it's hole if you don't have nails, and easy to lose when you do manage to retrieve it.
... ...much the same as every other PDA. It is easy to use, the icons are clear to understand and there are drop down menus a la windows. There are lots of programmes available on the internet to download for it, but they tend to use up loads of memory. The 'hotsync' cradle idea is good and means that you can back it up easily. On the down side, you need to back it up regularly as it goes through batteries like there's no tomorrow. I still use a diary, ...

nice for watching mpegs
Review of Palm Zire 31 by
gusdo
Advantages: light weight
Disadvantages: crashes often
I got this as a portable mpeg player and mp3 player. I have changed the card to a 512mb card. The battery life is excellent.
I love it.
It does everything I need, so much so I hardly ever use my pc!
It can run the divx codec using the appropriate software. It can run ebooks with ease and can store a huge amount.
With the correct software you can store whole volumes of mp3's on it so that you can listen on the bus/train/airplane.
The only thing ...

Palm Z22
Review of Palm Z22 by
whitby_qpr
Advantages: Stylish, easy to use
Disadvantages: Lack of memory, slow and battery doen't last long
...I've had to reset my Palm 4 times; I'd have binned mine if it hadn't had packed up for good. The lack of memory that the Z22 offers is also rather laughable. I must say I struggled to even get a full phone book on it. The only few pluses that I can think of are that it is extremely easy to use and it does look rather sylish. In terms of it being a good PDA it has alot to be desired for.
Palm also will not offer a replacement or fix it as 8 months ...
