Portable DVD player for when Ipod just won't do
Review of Nextbase SDV 77 B by cootuk

Advantages: Excellent screen, easily available accessories
Disadvantages: Plastic case feels cheap, sound could be louder

...Nextbase sell under a variety of names including "Voyager" so you may see the exact same model with a different badge. The SDV77 is the entry level 7" screen top loading DVD player that has now been upgraded to play DiVX, whatever that is! It is also multi-region. The player costs between £120-£150 and comes fully bundled with manuals, mains charger, incar charger, small earpieces, av cable, remote, headrest mounting holder, and battery. What really ...
...easy availability of spares, a two year warranty, and a wide range of accessories. Accessories such as proper wireless headphones with IR transmitter (even dual channel so two separate players can be used without interference) , a small games console/joypad, and a few different headrest mounts. I also bought a centre mount which allows the player to be positioned in front of the very middle of the rear seats rather than on the back of a headrest, ... Read review

The Panasonic LS82
Review of Panasonic DVD-LS 82 by Julia95x

Advantages: Great battery life and picture quality is also great.
Disadvantages: No control

I bought this portable DVD player because I had seen positive reviews about it, and wanted to see it for myself! I'm certainly not disappointed with it and I'm glad I did buy it! What stands out the most to me is the battery life. It lasts for hours! I heard the battery lasts for 12 hours, but found this untrue. Although it didn't last 12 hours I was still pleased with the battery life as it lasts enough time for me. You could probably still watch ...
...you only listen to music on the DVD player, the battery lasts a lot longer than when you are watching films. The screen is 8.5 inches and the LCD screen is attached to an arm which allows more flexibility when your adjusting the angle you want. The screen can be tilted as very far back, about so far back it is flat against the base! So it's very flexible! Another great thing about the portable DVD player is the picture quality. I saw the quality ... Read review

Review of Philips PET 710 by Alslad36

Advantages: Compact, plenty of features, no problems playing DVD-r
Disadvantages: Battery needs to be connected to player in order to charge it, tinny speaker sound

The PET710 is an attractive silver unit which (when closed) is about the size of three standard DVD cases stacked on top of one another. =What's in The Box? > The DVD player > The Battery > An AC Charger > In-Car Charger > Remote Control Unit > AV Connectors > Basic User Guide in English, French, Spanish and German Layout of Controls All controls are conveniently located ...
...upper side with the exception of the on/off switch, which is on the front left edge of the unit. Ports for the power, audio/video out and headphones, plus the volume control are located along the right edge of the player. Control Features All functions are available from either the remote or the onboard buttons. In truth, the remote is redundant unless you have connected the player to a TV anyway. The available ... portable dvd player 8-in dcp850 philips
Review of Philips DCP850 by jupiter28

Advantages: quality of image is like watching normal tv/dvd, IPOD classic docking
Disadvantages: can't think of any

...while travelling abroad. The philips DCP range was actually quite new and had only been out a couple of months. In addition this bay lets the IPOD classic integrate as part of the unit and is flush so you can't tell. when you are not using the IPOD docking you can store the remote there. The remote is very handy and perfectly sized with the same functions as you would have in a normal DVD player The quality is as good as any normal TV/dvd combo ...
...I spent all my time in airport watching my home tv shows. The speakers are really good too and do not compromise the viewing experience at all It is a fantastic unit for travelling and I highly rate it, is tough enough to take knocks while travelling but treat with care ... Read review
