MY camping In The Bad Weather Life Saver
Review of Acoustic Solutions DVD-222 by
hewks
Advantages: Cheaper than other portable Dvd's
Disadvantages: No carry case, volume not quite high enough
...player*
It is a Acoustic Solutions DVD 222, Mmm never heard of it either but I'd never heard of the new vodka I tried last week and I loved that, so I decicded to give it a go. The box was white with purple bits and a picture on the front, it had a little carry hangle on the top which was pretty handy, you can even keep it in that untill you can get a case. It was very well packed with everything in it's own little bag in small compartments, no ... ...The actual DVD player measures approximately 9" x 7" and it is only 1.5" high when closed, the battery pack is about 2" high and this fits on to the back of the DVD player itself.
It is silver in colour and has a little matching remote control which measures2" x 4" and is so flat it really wasn't worth measuring.
As you open it up the screen which measures 7" and is a widescreen is protected with a film cover that you can take off when you're ready ...

A very good value product, with good functionality
Review of Akai AK7PORT by
duracellbunny
Advantages: Very good functionality for the price
Disadvantages: Mechanical noise is aggravating
This is an excellent product for the price. It comes with a good selection of accessories, and the picture and sound quality are good.
On the downside, the casing is cheap and flimsy, and the drive makes a lot of noise in operation. It's distracting, but I've got used to it.
It plays DVD's (you can find instructions for playing multi-region disks on the internet) and CD's. It also plays MP3 CD's, and works fine with (DVD+R) home-made DVD's.
The ... ...volumes. It has two headphone sockets (and various audio and video connections, including optical connections).
Also in the box:
- Remote Control: it's fine, but no use in the dark (all of the buttons are the same shape!)
- Headphones (quality not good)
- AV lead (with RCA Video/ L+R Audio connections)
- Battery (lasts long enough to watch a film, I've never stretched it beyond about 2 hours).
- Power lead (plugs directly into the unit, or ...

one of the best
Review of Panasonic DVD-LS83 by
05cwestr
Advantages: amazing video quality
Disadvantages: there is better technology out there
This portable DVD player is the perfect size and weight to carry around with you so you can watch it through out the day. I recently purchased it for £150 but have found you can now buy it for around £146. I'm not sure if I would advise you to buy it as the latest gadgets including the ipodtouch do more such as store DVDs for around £165. It would be better to get an ipodtouch than this.
Despite this the DVD player has a very good picture and sound ... ...is fairly large for watching it in the car. In addition the controls for the DVD menu are easy to use and very clear. What's more the DVD player looks good. In my book this is very important as I am able to show it off!
As a portable dvd player this is one of the best and does the job very well. Although with the latest tecnology you can do so much more eg. PSP, iPod touch, the latest phones. These are more portable and can do more but you may want ...

The Panasonic LS82
Review of Panasonic DVD-LS 82 by
Julia95x
Advantages: Great battery life and picture quality is also great.
Disadvantages: No control
I bought this portable DVD player because I had seen positive reviews about it, and wanted to see it for myself! I'm certainly not disappointed with it and I'm glad I did buy it!
What stands out the most to me is the battery life. It lasts for hours! I heard the battery lasts for 12 hours, but found this untrue. Although it didn't last 12 hours I was still pleased with the battery life as it lasts enough time for me. You could probably still watch ... ...you only listen to music on the DVD player, the battery lasts a lot longer than when you are watching films. The screen is 8.5 inches and the LCD screen is attached to an arm which allows more flexibility when your adjusting the angle you want. The screen can be tilted as very far back, about so far back it is flat against the base! So it's very flexible!
Another great thing about the portable DVD player is the picture quality. I saw the quality ...

portable dvd player 8-in dcp850 philips
Review of Philips Philips DCP850 by
jupiter28
Advantages: quality of image is like watching normal tv/dvd, IPOD classic docking
Disadvantages: can't think of any
...while travelling abroad. The philips DCP range was actually quite new and had only been out a couple of months. In addition this bay lets the IPOD classic integrate as part of the unit and is flush so you can't tell. when you are not using the IPOD docking you can store the remote there.
The remote is very handy and perfectly sized with the same functions as you would have in a normal DVD player
The quality is as good as any normal TV/dvd combo ... ...I spent all my time in airport watching my home tv shows. The speakers are really good too and do not compromise the viewing experience at all
It is a fantastic unit for travelling and I highly rate it, is tough enough to take knocks while travelling but treat with care ...
