An Excellent Mp3 player
Review of Archos Gmini XS 202 20 GB by readie25

Advantages: Spacious, good battery life, robust
Disadvantages: Doesn't play videos, simple screen

The Archos Gmini is not an mp3 player like the Apple iPod - it doesn't benefit particularly from its image, as it is something of an ugly little brute! That said, it is actually very small and surprisingly capacious, transfers to and from the player are fast, and unlike the iPod, the player uses the standard mp3 formats and no special software. The player does have one major shortcoming - it does not play videos, and the screen is basic but a good ...
...the charge time is excellent. Also, the stock headphones are a tad poor, but for the money they are acceptable. The Gmini is an mp3 player that does exactly what is asked of it - it plays music files to a high quality and is surprisingly easy to use. For this, it comes highly recommended. ... Read review

Market leading by merit?
Review of Apple iPod classic 80 GB by readie25

Advantages: Easy to use, great screen, robust
Disadvantages: Putting videos onto device is difficult, no mains charger

The Apple iPod remains largely the industry yardstick by which mp3 players are measured, and for good reason. Good battery life, great storage capacity for the size, and excellent presentation and accessibility are now common throughout the iPod range. Headphone sound quality, however, is tragically average. However, there are also systemic drawbacks to the Apple range - first and foremost the iTunes store and obscure filetypes required by the iPod ...
...usability of the product that Apple so readily extols. Once the video is on the device, it does becomes easy to navigate through, but the battery life does suffer. The iPod remains the market leader, but perhaps because of a head start and initial monopoly of the market, rather than by its own merits. ... Read review

Great mp3 player- stylish and long-lasting.
Review of Creative ZEN V 2 GB by Dougie.D123

Advantages: Very stylish, last a long time + good sound quality.
Disadvantages: Jumbles order of songs up on albums.

I have owned the 2GB version since January 07 and have had no major problems since i bought it. It is very stylish and fits perfectly in your pocket. My one is a glossy black with green highlights around it. You can store up to 1000 songs on it and lots of photos, which you can make your background. Although its only small, my one is still in very good condition even though it's benn dropped a few times. There is one minor problem i have found with ...
...the songs when you put an album on it, it might not seem that annoying but i like to listen to music on the computer aswell and get used to the order! Apart from that though, the mp3 player is great and the sound quality is really good. With the moveable joystick thing in the middle, it's very simple to use. They are becoming cheaper and cheaper and the video version is supposed to be just as good. Great buy! ... Read review

Apple Ipod 80GB
Review of Apple iPod classic 80 GB by Samjadickie

Advantages: Big memory, not heavy in weight, long battery life
Disadvantages: None that I can see

I purchased an Ipod classic and I must say that it is one of the best purchases I have made. It has a massive memory and easy to use with iTunes. Movies, TV programmes, music and photos, everything is on mine and it is so easy to add and take off things you don't require for a while. I have 80GB and I have 600 photos, 520 songs and 60 movies on it and I still have 40GB to go. Absolutely brilliant, my friend has just bought a 160GB and it is so easy ... Read review

Apple Ipod Shuffle - 1GB
Review of Apple iPod shuffle 1 GB by saralouvalentine

Advantages: Small, cost effective, good sound quality
Disadvantages: no "visual" Display

This is a great little Ipod which I personally love. It's great for jogging or walking. I find it so lightweight I forget its there! - It has really good sound quality and holds enough tunes for me to go round the block or run a half marathon! - its very easy to use and looks funky - I have a purple one and my partner has a more "manly" silver one! - I particulary like the ear plugs - they fit into my ears better than most plugs and are comfortable ...
...On the down side it lacks any sort of index so you have to be really sure whats on it as you cant do your visual search. It also did not make it completly clear how to get tunes on it - I had to search a help page on line to find out I had to use a certain package - however once this was installed onto my pc it's really easy to upload tunes. Its a bargain in price and because its so small I wear it under my sleeve so that I feel no threat of having ... Read review
