A big but useful office printer
Review of Lexmark Optra T610 by
andycharger
Advantages: Quick, efficient and reliable
Disadvantages: Expensive toners
Lexmark may not be as well know as Hewlett Packard in the office world for their printers but I cannot see why not. I have been working with these units for sometime now and they beat the competition hands down.
Why?
Well, many reasons but first, let me describe one to you.
The Lexmark Optra T610 Laser Printer is not something you are going to have at home. The main reasons being the sheer size of the things and the cost of buying one.
However ... ...quiet and quick to print. It can handle you document management requirements much better than many of its competitiors and at a fairly reasonable business cost.
They are both compatible and upgradable to keep up with the modern business environment which is constantly evolving. No more changing your printer every couple of years. These beasts are ahead of their time in looks, performance and compatibility. Add to this their ability to cope with ...

Paper Jams R Us!
Review of Lexmark T 640n by
andycharger
Advantages: Speed, functionality, robustness
Disadvantages: Paper Jams, High Consumable Price, Maintenance
Lexmark may not be the first name you think of when you consider purchasing a new printer for home or at work. They are not what I would consider to be one of the "big names" in printer. People normally think of Cannon, Epson and HP.
However, this is a very robust manufacturer for office and home printing solutions, if a little expensive on consumables.
Reason for purchase.
This printer is actually recommended by our software supplier as it is ... ...the high Yield toners from Lexmark and these will set you back between £160-£200 each. Very pricey and lets the printer down badly. However for this you do get your 30,000+ pages of print easily. Fitting is quite straightforward but again you need to open 2 doors to fit it and remember to close them in the right order! The times i have not and then needed to open it all up again.
Remember it is a monotone printer so you only need to buy black ink ...

Great, big printer!
Review of Lexmark C 522n by
moorejs
Advantages: Great value for money, good print quality, fast output
Disadvantages: Big and heavy; starter cartridges don't last long
A very good value-for money entry-level colour laser. I found this very easy to set up (with WinXP, via USB) and with good print quality for most purposes, such as newsletters and other desktop-publishing. Probably not quite the standard you'd want if you're a keen digital photographer and want large photo output, but then I haven't tried changing the default settings or using high-quality glossy paper.
Don't expect it to sit on a small shelf next ...

A bigger tray but the printer is only ok!
Review of Lexmark T 642n by
andycharger
Advantages: Fast effficient print quality
Disadvantages: Too many additional items, expensive toners
...PURCHASE After years of running Lexmark T522s and T610s, we recently replaced our entire fleet with the T64X models. The X stands for either 0 in our T640 range or 2 in our T642n Range. Differences between the 2 are very insignificant to some but not to others. Its basically that the T642 has a 500 Sheet Paper drawer built in as opposed to the 250 Sheet drawer on the T640. Doen not sound much but it means you only have to restock the drawer half ... ...when buying laser toners for Lexmark Printers. Compared to similar toners from Epson, Cannon and HP, the Lexmark toners yield less and cost more per page. OK, initial outlay is cheaper but you will soon end up regretting the consumables if you print loads.
Add to this the additional costs if I want my printer to Duplex. For those of you that dont know, Duplexing is printing on both sides. Most modern Laser printers are able to cope with this internally. ...

Dell Colour Laser 3110cn Review
Review of Dell Color Laser Printer 3100cn by
MoneyB007
Advantages: Qulaity, Speed, Network Adapter
Disadvantages: Size of paper tray
This is a superb colour laser printer for the money. I use this for business on a daily basis. Although mainly used for B&W printing its very fast. When used in Colour the image quality is fantastic. This printer comes with various means of communication ie parallel, USB and a built in network adapter. I have it linked directly to the router and therefore it can be used as a network printer easily. The menus are very versitile and offer you a great ... ...Ie turning off the colour function to certain users. My only disappointment is that it doesnt come with a larger tray. An additional tray can be purchased as an optional extra at additional cost. The printer is very frugal with the ink, it seems to keep printing and printing without the levels going down rapidly. The cartridges arent cheap checkout dells website. This is to be expected for a colour laser though. Caution. This is heavy 2 people are ...
