Great Printer!
Review of Epson Stylus Photo R285 by
Selito206
Advantages: Perfect CD printing, Photo paper printing and normal paper printer quality!
Disadvantages: Large in size and has a few problems in CD printing (as explained in main review)
...ink being not even geniune Epson Ink, was perfect and high quality. The problems that i had was after i set everything up, and was about to test print my first few CDs, the printer said something was blocking the printer head. I had to restart the printer several times, and restart the computer 2 times to get it back to working/printing condition. What i learned was that when you want to print on CDs, you turn on the printer, and wait until it has ... ...ebay, and really it does not affect image quality as i have been using Epson for years and never bought genuine epson branded ink. Plus you can save a lot by buying Epson (in particular R285) because you can buy a CISS system for it reducing your printing costs significantly!!! ...

CANON PIXMA IP4500
Review of Canon PIXMA IP4500 by
Cyber-Mark
Advantages: sleek looks, not the ususal vanilla unit in the corner, quiet
Disadvantages: Slight premium when initially buying the printer, some ink can be expensive
...I was fearful of the Canon ink being at a premium. This has proved not to be the case, with the ink no dearer that other manufacturers. The cartridge set up on this printer lends itself to to ink economy with its separate units, and that is all before you even consider ink re-sellers.
Quiet in operation, superb printing in all modes, including photo reproduction, excellent connectivity and great looks make this a definite recommendation ...

Its' Worth the Effort
Review of Canon PIXMA IX4000 by
RichPrice
Advantages: The quality of the Photo printing and it prints to A3
Disadvantages: Setting it up
I bought a Canon Pixma ix4000 about three months ago. I'm not a technical expert, either in computers or in printers, so this review may be bit lacking in some technical details.
I already have a Sharp AL1457D (a multi purpose laser printer, scanner and copier) which I use for most day to day printing. The sharp only prints out onto A4 and is Black and white. I like taking photographs so I set out to buy an extra printer that was good for photographs ... ...(sods law really).
The Canon meets all of my needs. It prints up to A3, fairly quickly (if its' B&W). it prints excellent quality photographs (both colour and black and white), to look at them you would think that they were produced by a Professional photo lab, they are that good. I take lots of digital photos using a Canon EOS 300D. The printer produces picture quality that is just incredible, the subtlety of tones are great. I took some photos ...

Pretty good
Review of Epson Stylus Photo R360 by
bennyT595
Advantages: Excellent for printing out pictures straight from the memory card
Disadvantages: Slow turning on
Well, what can i say its a printer........................ but a bloody good one. Lets face it, it does look good, i love the small lcd screen in the front. Erm i think the printing quality is excellent, and the ability to vary it by selecting the quality you want and what type of paper you want to use it for is useful, especailly if you want to just print out something rough and don't want to waste ink, which is another thing, the ink doesn't seem ...

Simply brilliant!
Review of Epson Stylus Photo 1400 by
il_cacciatore
Advantages: A3+ capability, CD/DVD printing function, Resolution, Pict Bridge Port, Colour depth.
Disadvantages: Bulky (but to be expected?), no ISB cable or firewire port, Plastic build.
...☼
My long lived Epson C42 plus gave up the ghost a while back so I decided to invest in a new printer. I’ve stayed loyal to Epson as there were no alternatives similar in specification and ability out on the market just now in the same price bracket as the Stylus 1400. I chose this printer as I want a printer that can print high quality photographs from digital and scanned photographs, something capable of A3 print size to print technical ... ...at £9.45 each for oem Epson cartridges. ☼ Packaging ☼
The box it comes packed in is a bit bulky as it is an A3 printer though it features carry handles to make life easier. It is well styled and describes key points of the printer in different languages. My box contained: ☺Software CD
☺Six ink cartridges (described later) ☺Power cable
☺Warranty Card
☺Quick Start Guide
☺CD print tray contraption
