CANON PIXMA IP4500
Review of Canon PIXMA IP4500 by
Cyber-Mark
Advantages: sleek looks, not the ususal vanilla unit in the corner, quiet
Disadvantages: Slight premium when initially buying the printer, some ink can be expensive
...I was fearful of the Canon ink being at a premium. This has proved not to be the case, with the ink no dearer that other manufacturers. The cartridge set up on this printer lends itself to to ink economy with its separate units, and that is all before you even consider ink re-sellers.
Quiet in operation, superb printing in all modes, including photo reproduction, excellent connectivity and great looks make this a definite recommendation ...

not fab, but good for the money
Review of HP LaserJet P1005 by
princesslaura
Advantages: not too big, quiet
Disadvantages: not a fantastic printer
...husband has been using the HP Laserjet P1005 at work for the past few months. His [much more expensive] laserjet broke down and he was quite put out to receive this in return!
Amazon charges £69.75 for this product [with free delivery within the UK]. At this price you know that the printer is not going to be top of the range, however, it's not total rubbish by any means. It prints at speeds of up to 14ppm [which is no good for high volume printing ... ...1200-dpi.
It has a 133 MHz processor and 2 MB of memory. One advantage of this printer is that it is fairly small in comparison to many others on the market [which saves on valuable deskspace - more room for coffee cups!]. It is also quite quiet [my husband's last printer sounded like an aircraft taking off whenever it was turned on].
It comes with a 150 sheet input tray, which I would consider adequate for most home use.
Hi-speed USB 2.0 connectivity ...

Great Printer!
Review of Epson Stylus Photo R285 by
Selito206
Advantages: Perfect CD printing, Photo paper printing and normal paper printer quality!
Disadvantages: Large in size and has a few problems in CD printing (as explained in main review)
...ink being not even geniune Epson Ink, was perfect and high quality. The problems that i had was after i set everything up, and was about to test print my first few CDs, the printer said something was blocking the printer head. I had to restart the printer several times, and restart the computer 2 times to get it back to working/printing condition. What i learned was that when you want to print on CDs, you turn on the printer, and wait until it has ... ...ebay, and really it does not affect image quality as i have been using Epson for years and never bought genuine epson branded ink. Plus you can save a lot by buying Epson (in particular R285) because you can buy a CISS system for it reducing your printing costs significantly!!! ...

HP Laserjet 1600
Review of HP Color LaserJet 1600 by
jr991
Advantages: Prints Fast, Good Quality
Disadvantages: Cannot print on 110lb cardstock
I have had my HP Laserjet 1600 for a couple of months now and at first I wasn't to pleased with the colour quality, but after it got broken in it started getting better. I use it quite a bit, sometimes printing 500 sheets a day, so it seems to stand up to the work load that I put it through. One drawback to the HP Laserjet 1600 is if you're printing card stock it cannot print on 110 lb paper. I should have checked into this before purchasing it but ...

Multi-purpose, multi-success!
Review of Canon Pixma MP180 by
MrEvans101
Advantages: Quick, efficient, high quality
Disadvantages: Photocopy function slightly worse than normal prints
...As regards printing cartridges, the Canon brand may not be the cheapest, but then again, you must pay for quality. Also, there aren't really any "cheap" brands of much worth available anyway. In all fairness, the durability of the cartridges makes them worth everything single penny in my view. I regularly use my printer, and I was surprised by how economic it was. A little ink certainly goes a very long way with this printer A very very long way ... ...it to potential buyers. The Canon Pixma MP180 is the complete package, and an excellent all-rounder. There are no serious faults with it, it is extremely easy to set up and use, and it is very cheap regaring the longevity of its cartridges.
An excellent multi-function printer, that I'm sure would more than satisy anyone's needs. ...
