A diamond in a sea of cubic zirconia
Review of Kyocera FS 1010 by juliaf1

Advantages: quick, cheap
Disadvantages: none really

...per sheet). --Online Support-- Kyocera has a very comprehensive UK-based website which provides a lot of information on each of their products, including where to buy, cartridge costs etc. It has a support helpdesk which is on an 0845 (local rate) number as well as email support. The online help pages are split into different section to allow for easier navigation. It even has a section to help you set up the printer initially which is always helpful. ...
...never had to use their online or offline support. --Pro's-- Quick, cheap printing, it can do about 14 pages a minute so it’s perfect for doing large black and white print runs. It can even cope with printing out black and white images without loss of definition. Hold enough paper for even the largest print jobs I have to do, this means I can leave it printing and not have to keep on checking on it and restocking the paper. Compared to our office ... HP OffficeJet 9130
Review of Hewlett Packard Officejet 9130 All-in-One by dorling

Advantages: scanner, printing
Disadvantages: E-mail Setup

I purchased this to replace an HP G-85 all in one, and for the most part im extremely pleased. The scanner function is nothing short of fantastic! once you set up the network card (standard for the 9130) you just hit scan and a speed dial button that you previously configured that points to a folder on your computer; thats it, the printer scans, converts to pdf, and stuffs it over the network and onto your computer! saves me unbelievable amounts ...
...print function is also good, but it doesnt do the stated ppm. good enough for most things, but i would like somewhat faster. the one problem i have is paper tray #2. it just doesnt feed right, and it apparently is a design problem. when i use heavier paper, such as the HP bright white 24#, it jams. and jams. and jams. HP was very helpful sending me a new paper tray, new printer, and finally new duplexer (essentially replacing everything), but no ... Read review

Black and white Network printing
Review of HP LaserJet 4250tn by netgekko

Advantages: Hewlett Packard reliability
Disadvantages: Gets noisy when its old, but this can be sorted !!

...be fixed easily. The HP laserjet 4250TN is retailing for around £900.00 at the moment and IV seen them as low as £600.00. Remember if you're buying second hand, or a reconditioned unit, make sure you get a configuration and consumables status page printed off the machine. These will tell you the amount of pages the unit has printed, error messages, life expectancy of the consumable parts and the level of Toner remaining. Toner for this printer ... Read review

HP Laserjet 1600
Review of HP Color LaserJet 1600 by jr991

Advantages: Prints Fast, Good Quality
Disadvantages: Cannot print on 110lb cardstock

I have had my HP Laserjet 1600 for a couple of months now and at first I wasn't to pleased with the colour quality, but after it got broken in it started getting better. I use it quite a bit, sometimes printing 500 sheets a day, so it seems to stand up to the work load that I put it through. One drawback to the HP Laserjet 1600 is if you're printing card stock it cannot print on 110 lb paper. I should have checked into this before purchasing it but ... Read review

Cheap to Buy. Cheap to Run
Review of Samsung ML 2010R by bencallis

Advantages: Cheap, fast, refillable toner, small.
Disadvantages: Envelopes can get jammed.

...such a regular basis. The samsung was in my budget and had all the benefits of a laser printer in a small box. The printer was easy to setup and came with drivers for windows Vista and Xp. I am a Mac user and it was plug and play for me (with Leopard). The toner had to be inserted which is done within seconds. Being my first laser printer I was impressed with the printing speeds, long gone have the days of waiting 30mins for a journal to print. ...
...The printer is relatively small (as far as laser printers go) and will fit on almost any desk (Dimensions (WxDxH) 35.8 cm x 29.9 cm x 21.7 cm). The printer has a relatively small paper capacity at 150 sheets, although this is ample enough for home use or smaller offices. As its only a Mono laser printer photos are not expected to be printed although simple graphs and small pictures in documents print out nice enough. The printer is shipped with ... Read review
