Advantages: Good Printing Quality, Some Nice HP freebies, Install Plug And Play Easy.
Disadvantages: Slow Colour and Photo printing time, The Price of The HP Cartridges!! Irritating software.

Advantages: Separate paper tray for smaller paper, neat screen to preview pictures, pretty blue colour, takes all memory cards and USB cables
Disadvantages: Had to get the instruction manual on-line, and it took forever to download and then it wouldn't print for me!

(my opinion) I would seriously recommend the printer, I have only had it for a few weeks so far, but am very pleased with the results its given me. The cartridges are a little on the dearer side than other manufacturers. But I would recommend using the GENUINE ones rather than cheap after market type. ...I haven't installed something by mistake. I know it does say not a network printer, but either was my last one.. lol. I haven;t bothered to go into all the technical spec's like dpi etc... I'm sure if those things are important to you making a choice it would be better to look at the manufacturers website... For those who can't understand all the technical mumbo-jumbo.
