Great little printer for a nice price!
Review of HP LaserJet 1018 by
shadypeanut
Advantages: Great value
Disadvantages: Could have more features
Here you are looking at a budget colour laser printer that you will get for under ₤100. The toner cartridges cost around the ₤40 mark, which is slightly on the expensive side, but will print approximately 2000 pages. The actual specifications of the printer says that it prints at 12 pages per minute, and after using the printer I was impressed with the speed of the printing, even with full page printouts, such as graphics/photos. The ... ...a faster way of sending information.
The quality of fonts when printing is excellent, even when printing the smallest of text, the printer still produces excellent results. The quality of printed graphics/photos were also very impressive, and by using photo paper I could see this printer producing some very good printouts. The look of the printer itself is plain, there are no menus or buttons, but this enables the printer to be small and thin, which ...

Mine Needs Replacing After Just A Year
Review of Samsung ML 1210 by
Pompeii1986
Advantages: Fast and easy to use; Good quality; Good starter printer
Disadvantages: Mine became very unreliable after about a year
...been my experience with the Samsung ML 1210. I've seen stirling reviews for it from technically gifted owners and layman alike. I like to think that I have an average knowledge of printers - I can do the basics - and I have had a poor experience with this one. As the reviews on this site are purely subjective, I ask those who disagree with me to understand that this review is based on my own experience.
I have had the printer for about a year and ... ...in no time at all. The problem wasn't the paper jamming, but loading the paper fast enough! Sure enough it performed as other reviews have noted that it performs.
Costing £69.99 with free bundle of economy office paper and a toner cartridge it seemed like a great buy. There is the initial 10-15 seconds where the printer has a 'think'. and then the paper shoots out in great quality. I've never had any problems with the cartridges (sorry, I cant remember ...

HP LaserJet 4L
Review of HP LaserJet 4L by
A.Smith
Advantages: Well built, toner lasts ages
Disadvantages: Poor graphics, very slow
First off I was given this printer as they were replacing all of the old black & white laser printers with colour laser printers. I currently own two printers, one inkjet and this laserjet, which is the best option really as I can use one for graphics and one for text.
The LaserJet 4L isn't the fastest of all printers, if you're printing a large document with a fair few pages then it might be worth going to put the kettle on and getting a cup of ... ...a little bit like waiting for paint to dry. Even though it's not the fastest of all printers the quality isn't too bad if you're just looking to print text, if you've included images within your document then don't expect anything brilliant from this printer because as far as images go it really does make a mess of them.
An advantage of this printer is the amount of paper it can hold, I'm sure you've all gone to print something and the printer has ...

It really works it's life!!!
Review of Lexmark Optra E+ by
bcnlondon
Advantages: Very long working life
Disadvantages: Installation might be a pain in the neck!
...PS2 under the name e.g. Lexmark PS2 and once - better printing quality - as a PCL5 under the name Lexmark PCL5 - faster print speed) and try to use it once as a PS2 and once as a PCL5. This will confuse the printer driver which will start printing the printer software code.
For your own protection I strongly suggest you to avoid installing MarkVision (the Lexmark printing control panel facility) which was especially made by Lexmark to drive you ... ...heavy duty printers ever!
Lexmark recommends to print on paper stock of up to 180 gsm, while I have printed - with a little pushing - paper stock of up to 300 gsm with no problems.
If you are a graphic designer, you will find Optra E+ (with PS2 enhancement) ideal for printing in-house newsletters and other mass mailing documents (brochures, flyers etc.). The Optra E+ prints at 15 (heavy graphics + pictures) to 30 (text + simple line art graphics) ...

Value for money and a real work horse
Review of Samsung ML 2010 by
thermalnermal
Advantages: Refillable toner cartridges, economy ink setting
Disadvantages: slightly noisy, takes a while to warm up
We have been using a Samsung ML1510 for club printing for approximately five years. That printer is still going strong and is now with the current club secretary. So judging by that experience I decided to buy a ML2010 as I anticipate a lot of printing for my research project. It was excellent value for money. I bought it from Ebuyer; I ordered it online at 4.30pm and the printer had arrived by 8.30am the next morning. The main advantage of Samsung ... ...refill, saving the extortionate amount for a new cartridge every time. The afore mentioned ML1510 has run on refills the whole time making it extremely economical to run. Although this printer does not have an automatic duplex function (would you really expect it at the price) it is quite easy to duplex manually using the printer dialogue on the pc. ...
