Samsung ML4500 Brilliant!
Review of Samsung ML 4500 by Seton

Advantages: Cost, reliability, ease of use, top quality print, compact size
Disadvantages: It's a hard working, reliable Volvo, not a Jaguar

...I would always stick with Samsung and I might look for one that prints more copies per minute and possibly in colour simply because of the job that I do, but if there was nothing suitable I would be delighted to buy the exact same model and would happily pay three times what I did. The fact that you can now get this model for nearly half the price is amazing. If you want clever extras and fancy tricks it might not be the model for you, but if you ...
...a year at @ £40), extremely hard working and problem free, I'm very happy to recommend this printer. The quality of print is excellent (I create professional books, thesis, wedding invitations and high quality business documents.) with great sharpness on a range of different papers. I've never had any problem with it and you can literally take it out of the box and go. ... Read review

Epson Stylus C60
Review of Epson Stylus C60 by robotii

Advantages: fast, cheap and economical to run, easy to install
Disadvantages: better printers are available for high volume output

This printer I just recently bought for printing out coursework at Uni., and I'm really quite chuffed with it. The print quality is excellent at 2880dpi and at over 6 pages a minute it really does churn out the pages. The printer is designed to fit anywhere on a small desk, which is exactly what I have, and takes up only a small footprint. I haven't been running it long enough to give reliability marks to the component but all indications are that ...
...yet. Installation of the drivers under XP was incredibly simple, involving sticking the CD in the drive and clicking the install button. The installation also provides an icon in the systray under both 9x and 2000/XP. This tells you among other things the ink levels, and current progress of any documents. It also allows you to change myriad options regarding paper orientation, and digital camera correction. The properties page is well laid out, and ... Read review

Review of Canon S 330 Photo by newb00ts

Advantages: Excellent print quality
Disadvantages: slightly flimsy

I had been relying on an old black and white printer for far too long. My girlfriend spotted this one and bought it and after hearing good things from her I purchased it from PC World for £69.99. ----Style---- I actually think the printer is quite good looking. It has a smoked perspex front which opens outwards to allow access to the two ink cartridges and the printer head and the paper adjustment lever. Unfortunately it still follows the rather ...
...all its not bad looking and perhaps most importantly it looks and feels solid and well built. Only two buttons are on the printer itself these are the power and cancel button situated on the top just behind the smoked perspex cover. The only problems with the design are the output and input tray which are particulary flimsy and make the printer rather larger once attached. Due to the limited space I have for this printer I don't bother with the output ... Read review

Decent cheap printer
Review of Canon i 320 by random76

Advantages: Cheap, good quality
Disadvantages: Quite noisy

I spent a fair amount of time researching printers before I bought this one just over a year ago and I am very satisfied with it. Mostly I use it for text only but I have printed out a short book of pictures with it (as a present) and it was good quality. I’m sure there are better printers, but they are far more expensive. The i320 is a good quality cheap printer. The ink cartridges are fairly cheap too, which is a bonus. I have been using Canon-compatible ...
...yet) without any trouble. It’s not a particularly quiet printer, but neither is it the noisiest I’ve heard. If it’s in your bedroom I wouldn’t leave it printing while you’re in bed, but apart from that it’s not too loud. My only real complaint is that it doesn't come with any kind of tray to catch the printed pages. Apart from that I'd recommend it without hesitation. ... Read review

HP Photosmart 145
Review of HP PhotoSmart 145 by jeanoj

Advantages: Portable, easy to set up and use, no PC required
Disadvantages: None

...of the camera? The HP 145 was very easy to set up and I had printed my first photo within 10 minutes of un packing the box. I really like the fact that you can choose to use with a PC or as a stand alone printer. I am looking forward to being able to take photos and print them off almost immediately at family functions. Although you cannot preview the photos on the LED screen, you can print off an index card with 28 mini photos per page so you ... Read review
