    My move was international. I would have to say the service received until delivery was good. However, all that became irrelevant when my goods were finally delivered and I discovered they were significantly damaged. It was disappointing that the delivery staff, who were contracted to unpack, also tried to hide the damage. To add insult to injury, Pickfords then did their best not to honour the insurance contract they had sold to me. They frankly lied through the process. I eventually got some compensation but had to take them to court and this took over a year and concerted effort. They truly ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages unreliable, do not meet deadlines, lie, no customer service, no complaints procedure, no come back

    I have moved overseas many times and NEVER had such appalling service as provided by Allied Pickfords. I chose them because they said they were pro-active and would guarantee a delivery date in NZ if I paid extra fees which I did. The shipment was 2 weeks late, many pieces of furniture damaged, they had not forwarded customs requirements nor did they at any stage let me know what was going on. I made dozens of calls which were not returned, dates were not met and the management were nothing other than rude and incompetent.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Stress, frustration, disappointment, feeling of violation

    We moved recently, an international move, and I am not going to say when or where because they will come after me, but regretfully we used ALLIED PICKFORDS. When we got to the other end, we discovered that over $2000 worth of items were stolen by their staff. The management could have helped us to recover some of our losses but instead their management fobbed us off like we didn't exist! If, by virtue of their having read this review, I have turned one potential customer away from ALLIED PICKFORDS, then I have gone a small part of the way to teaching their management that they should have done ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages damaged furniture, they (effectively) stole our money (i.e. no refund for terrible service)

    We had previously used Allied Pickfords over the past 25 years for about 5 moves across three continents. Very happy until our most recent move In July 2011, in Perth Australia. It is hard to write this review without getting emotional or rude but I can say that it was one of the worst experiences we've ever had. In very brief, just a few of the issues we had: they were late, they didn't have enough people for the job, the truck was too small for the job.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Office staff untrained & unhelpful. Packing staff slow & incompetent. Zero customer service.

    I used Allied Pickfords to move from Bristol, UK, to Adelaide, Australia. Pick-up was October 29th 2010 and delivery was early February 2011 (over a month late). I got 5 quotes for the move. Pickfords were the second-dearest (John Masons/Wridgways being the dearest). I searched for online reviews of all 5 companies before deciding - John Masons/Wridgways were the only company to get only good reviews (that I could find). Unfortunately I had a fixed moving allowance (paid for by my new employer) and they were just too expensive. They did offer to reduce the price by a small amount, but it was ... more

    I used Pickfords twice to move to Australia/New Zealand - never again!! The 1st shipment arrived in Sydney ok but then had to be re-directed to Auckland as we had decided to relocate there for work instead. It was impoassible to get information out of Australia (Carmen never returns emails). Eventually the stuff arrived and in fairness Pickfords NZ are fantastic. There service is extremely good. We didn't have alot of stuff broken but what was broken was down to the poor packing n the UK. 2 Hurricane lamps had been packed at the bottom of the container with no bubble wrap round them so the ... more

    Like many we chose Pickfords for our move from Scotland to southern England via storage based on reputation and the assurances of their rep. We knew it would not be easy but little did we know how much stress, heartbreak and anger it would generate. Briefly, the all-container pack we paid for didn't happen and on day 2, despite our protests, our belongings were loose packed into the van to be packed into containers at the depot!     Disadvantages Disadvantages Insurance has been a nightmare to claim against

    Significant problems claiming against the insurance - we have had a number of items broken or go missing, it has so far taken us 2 months to get precisely nowhere. They promise to look into things and get back to us, then silence. By the time we have chased - getting almost daily, we will probably have spent more in time, effort and phone bills than we are actually claiming, but now it's the principal. The movers on the day were prompt and seemed efficient (despite the breakages), but it means nothing if the back office staff won't take the insurance claims seriously when things go wrong.     Advantages Advantages They really like to take your money and then not deliver

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Unprofessional, overpriced, late and don't take your thoughts into consideration

    We used Allied Pickford to move from NZ to Canada. This is our 3rd international move, and we had never considered using Allied Pickfords in the past. 1st of all our sea container mysteriously ended up in Singapore. It showed up over 4 weeks late. We were told our sea can would be taken from our residence in NZ and delived to our residence in Canada. The office in Vancouver decided for us that they weren't going to honour that. Half way through the move, they decided to unload or belongings in Vancouver and reshuffle them into a moving van. Which just exposes our furniture to more scratches ... more

    in my opinion other than use allied pickfords.just hire a van load it up and take it yourself.and while your at it stop off at the local tip and throw some boxes (full ones) away. how is it possible to lose items?????? if you discovered your car was not there in the morning when you woke up would you describe your car as being lost??? in my opinion the word lost for allied pickfords is a convenient way for them admit how shockingly poor they are. since i reported my lost items. i have recieved not 1 single phone call from them. when you hear them say i will find out what has happened for you ... more
