    Advantages Advantages long cord for plugging in far away sockets

    Disadvantages Disadvantages unreliable, mine gave up after year and a half

    I bought my apple macbook (the old style white one that they don't make anymore!) last year January. For a hefty price of about £850 for this device, it came accompanied with a charger which is basically this item I am reviewing. It is essentially a white charger, with a long wire that at one end plugs into sockets, then halfway down the wire is this white block looking device which can be separated in two.     Advantages Advantages Magnetic connection. Robust. Long length cable.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive. Can accidentally disconnect.

    In February I visited Loch Lomond, and when I left to come home I carelessly and stupidly left my Apple MagSafe Power Adapter for my Macbook Pro plugged into the socket in the cabin I was renting. Of course, when I phoned to ask them if they could send it to me, it was no longer plugged in and, I suspect, ended up on Ebay! However, this meant I had to buy another Apple MagSafe Power Adapter which I bought from the Apple Store for £50. I know that Apple accessory products are ridiculously expensive having had to buy a couple of batteries in the past, but I thought that £50 for a lead was more ... more

    This the charger which comes as standard with every Apple Macbook and 13 inch Macbook Pro. The new model is known as an L shape charger, as opposed to the old T style charger, as you can see from the picture, it attaches to the laptop parallel, as opposed to perpendicular to it. The charger itself has quite a long cord, about 2-3 metres in length. When the connector is plugged into the laptop, the LED, on the connector lights up.
