Advantages Advantages Reserve and Collect, Quick collection

Disadvantages Disadvantages Items not always in stock

When I first started using Argos I first heard of Argos around ten years ago (maybe more but I just can't remember exactly) when a family member brought home the latest catalogue I actually used Argos myself a few years later when I wanted to buy an Action Replay for my Playstation 2. My experience with Argos I have always enjoyed my experience at Argos as I have never had to wait longer than 15 minutes for a product (I usually only have to wait less than 5 minutes but can be longer if it's busy). Returns and Refunds If a product purchased from Argos less than a year ago breaks down you can ... more

    Advantages Advantages Good prices sometimes.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Staff are unhelpful and disgustingly mannered, and their catalogue and information is misleading.

Recently I purchased a mobile phone handset from Argos. It was on the Orange network and was a Pay As You Go phone, which led me to believe I could put my sim card in. When I asked at the till, the lady said I could just switch over sims as it was a Pay As You Go handset, and carry on. Naturally, I took her word and purchased it. Big mistake. When I collected the order, there were three women discussing my phone between themselves. They took the phone out of the box and were looking at it. Then they handed it to the lady serving me and she signed off the receipt, like they do. She then told me ... more

Advantages Advantages Prices are allright, Shop-warehouse concept works great

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not helpful staff, Not helpful web site -buying made really hard

They shall sell more stuff if they could hire competent staff...and if they would significaly improve product specifications on the site. Prices are allright although products range is not always the most actual, pretty poor in choice of electronics, computers, entertainment and media. Make them specs better seriously! so it wouldn't be so much frustrating to browse. For example it doesn't tell anything when stated "1Ghz processor"! People need to know more before making decision okay. What gen processor? how many cores? exact brand, type, model number? or at least include links to ... more

Advantages Advantages Phone itself is reasonable value

Disadvantages Disadvantages Small keys a bit fiddly to use; the £10 'free credit' offer is misleading

Nothing wrong with the phone (so long as you have small fingers to operate the keypad) but I bought this phone from Argos because it supposedly had £10 free credit from Orange included. However, when you buy the phone you have to buy £10 credit from Argos at the same time, and there is no sign of the 'free credit.' After a repeat visit to Argos and a lot of time wasted on e-mails and scouring the Orange and Argos websites, it turns out that the £10 'free' credit is some kind of invisible 'bonus' credit that does not show up on your credit balance, and has to be used up in one month. Not much ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Limited cooking area, consider purchasing larger model if thought to be an issue!

This review has some how ended up in the wrong category. The product was purchased from Argos however should be reviewed on the product page for George Foreman(18054) - George Foreman 18054 - The George Foreman design is such a great concept, when the first product of its type hit the shelves in 1994 over 100 million units have since been sold internationally! This is the second foreman grill that we have purchased in our house as the first one came to the end of its life after 3 years of daily use! It wasn't until the previous unit packed up that everyone in our household realised they could ... more

Advantages Advantages An excellent piece of affordable equpment

Disadvantages Disadvantages No indicator for the end of steam cycle

I bought one of these yesterday to replace a Tefal model that was just over a year old, so out of guarantee when one of the food baskets cracked. In short Tefal wanted around £13.00 for a replacement basket; the Argos Value Range Steamer cost £12.99. The Tefal model cost amost 3 times as much as this. It works as well, if not better than the Tefal model. It bgins steaming just as quickly as the Tefal model The Tefal model had a cylindrical piece of plastic that went around the hetaing element to concentrate the flow of steam. The Argos model has this built into the drip tray; a massive ... more

    Advantages Advantages lightweight, efficient,powerfull

Disadvantages Disadvantages can be quite noisy

I recieved my Vax a week ago now,and must admit ,its fantastic and very easy to use. I have had no problems with moving the hoover over varied surfaces. Its very light and compact. It comes with a good selection of tools to make the hoovering experience more efficient. There is a rotating brush that spins while the hoover is in use, this is especially usefull for smaller areas of your home. Its also fantastic for down the sofa or chairs.I found it cleaned these areas without difficulty. It has the following features,2200 watts and 300 air watts - powerful bagless suction Single cyclonic ... more

    Advantages Advantages cheap

Disadvantages Disadvantages none if you are shopping online rather than in store

I've really never liked Argos. Going into a store is rarely a pleasant shopping experience, they tend to be full of chavs and you hang around for ages while some simpleton goes to find your purchase from the warehouse out back. So I've never liked it, but they are really good value so I put up with it anyway. I was delighted when I discovered the Argos website. Same great deals without having to go anywhere near their shop. Perfect :) Since then I have bought all sorts of electrical items for my home and I have been really pleased each time with the deal that I got. No complaints about the ... more

Advantages Advantages relatively cheap, different choices

Disadvantages Disadvantages Long delivery windows which are not stuck to, incorrect items delivered

We recently purchased a desk and filing cabinet from Argos, after searching everywhere for one that matched our budget and space needs. Argos by far and away had the best range for us & the price was reasonable. However, the delivery timeslots were off-putting - 7am to 1pm. Fortunately I work from home some of the time, so this wasn't too inconvenient (though I didn't love getting up and dressed for 7am when I didn't have to). The delivery driver arrived at 2.30. Not only did he not apologise for being late, he didn't say anything and merely propped the items he'd delivered against the door. I ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages worst aftersales ever

When i needed a camera i thought every shop or supermarkek were pretty much the same.how wrong i was..Argos must be the worst company i have ever used for their aftersales service. When i had a problem very soon after buying the camera i was told because i had bought it over 30 days earlier(it was a x-mas present) they wouldnt replace it even though it hadnt been used.It would be sent away and would take 28 working days .week ends and bank holidays not included.when i complained this was too long i was told yes it is a long time but tough.....when i said that if i had bought it at asda or tesco ... more
