Advantages Advantages great taste, very refreshing, could be replaced with the strongbow ad ;D

    Disadvantages Disadvantages the brand name

Well Becks is definetly one of my favouraite lagers, only because of the taste, its not as bitter as any of the other ones, its nice and soft if you get what i mean, doesnt have that bitter after taste that you get, to be honest the brand name couldhave been better everytime i hear becks its like the david beckham, i dont know why but i do ;D believe it or not im actually drinking it right now as i write this review ;) its great with a hot meal, and really is refreshing, id love to see more advertisements on it as i think it would really recieve a lot of customer loyalty because of the great ... more

Advantages Advantages Far superior to most 4% beers

Disadvantages Disadvantages No substitute for the real thing

I'm a huge fan of Beck's lager due to it's peerless taste and quality. From the bottle it is utter perfection, while if well kept then the keg version is just as excellent. There aren't many pubs that do keep it well mind you, so perhaps you'll bear that in mind while reading this review; it's entirely possible that the pub I was in when I first tried Beck's Vier may not have been the best place to try a new beer. To be honest, I don't do 4%. I find that most beers less than the continental 5% alcohol are generally tasteless and watery, typified by the ubiquitous Fosters and Carling that you ... more

5 Stars Quick review of Becks Vier Standard Lager by edvieri 25/05/2007
With out a doubt the best beer out there. 4 ingredients is obviously all you need for a top quality beer. Even tastes good in a can. Best feature is no hangover in the morning how ever much you consume. So good Ive renamed it Christian Vieri: a first class footballer for a first class beer.

    Advantages Advantages extra cold

Disadvantages Disadvantages not avaliable everywhere yet

with so many of the branded lagers moving from standard temperature to extra cold beck veir has to be one of the top premium lagers now avaliable if your pub/bar does not stock it its well worth asking your landlord to stock this product, its best served from the keg rather than out of a can and providing the beer lines are clean it should have a nice crisp taste to it. best served super chilled in a fresh clean and cold glass ideal now the warm weather is now here. with inbev now stcoking this procuct look out for it and try it, i have not yet tried it in the can form so i am not able to ... more

Advantages Advantages taste and minimal weight gain pilsner

    Disadvantages Disadvantages price in pubs

I think it is one of the best beers to appear on the marker recently and if you check it has not been given heavy marketing by a company and various distributors who can easily afford to do just that. The taste is great, in a pub/bar it is not cheap but in Asda it is. Try it really cold? I hope that the public warm to this cold pilsner and realise that it is less fattening than other beers as pilsners are. It is very compatible with a low carb diet. Therefore I think that we should drink pilsners as opposed to malty sugary beers. Pilsners have little or no sugar left as it turns to alcohol ... more

    Advantages Advantages Refreshing, Average Price

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not Widely Available

As a general rule when I indulge in one of my favourite pastimes which is drinking alcohol I tend to opt for a pint of standard Lager, namely Carling or Fosters. I have been known to venture occasionally into the world of Real Ales, but if a bit of a session lies ahead then I prefer to stick to standard Lager. Beck's Vier is the latest addition to the selection of standard Draught Lagers available at my local Pub. At just an extra 20 pence a Pint on top of what I would normally pay for my Carling I decided to give it a try on the recommendation of a friend. THE BACKGROUND Following an initial ... more
