Last night after an incredibly early dinner I could suppress the hunger no longer and went raiding through the kitchen to see what I could possibly eat. Whilst scouring the freezer for food I came across an unopened tub of Ben & Jerry’s Cheesecake Brownie Cream; there was no hesitation I grabbed the tub and a spoon and off I went. On opening the tub I was treated to a lovely cheesecake aroma; if only subtle it was delightful. Aesthetically I thought the packaging was enticing and playful. Inside it got serious. It is clear when opening a tub of Ben & Jerry’s they don’t mess around with their ... more

Being a fan of ice cream it really does not matter what flavour it is as long as it's ice cream, but there are two flavours of Ben and Jerry's that i like the most one is cookie dough chip and the other is caramel chew chew. Caramel Chew Chew is a luxurious vanilla ice cream that has swirls of caramel in it and if that is not good enough you will also find a chocolate cup that is filled with more caramel which are great. There is not a lot more than you can ask for out of a 500ml tub of ice cream, all i wish for is that there is more in the tub. It is a slightly more expensive ice cream but i ... more

    Advantages Advantages yummy,not sickly

Disadvantages Disadvantages high in calories, not sickly!

I had a tub of this the other night.... and oh my god! It was like a wee party in my mouth! 500g tub of heaven! Once you get in to the tub (which is surprisingly hard to open) the ice cream looks lovely. "Caramel Chew Chew" is caramel flavoured ice cream, with swirls of caramel throughout the tub, with little chocolate pieces filled with caramel! Sounds really sickly, But its absolutely magical. For some reason I can eat a whole tub without even feeling slightly nauseaus or naughty! I'm having real difficulty trying to think of words to describle the flavour….. My mind draws a blank at this ... more

    Advantages Advantages Quite tasty

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not the best B & J ice cream for depth of flavours

I was walking around Safeway the other day when I saw Ben & Jerry's Caramel Chew Chew ice cream on special offer. I have previously tried other Ben & Jerry ice creams and have been impressed, so was keen to try this one too. Caramel Chew Chew is one of Ben & Jerry's less well-known ice creams. Unlike the Phish Food and Cookie Dough varieties, which are widely available and sold by many retailers, Caramel Chew Chew is more difficult to get hold of and some of you may not have heard of it. For those of you who haven't, let me tell you a little about it.... Caramel Chew Chew is a mixture of ... more

'Pardon me boy, is that the caramel chew chew?' 'Aisle 29, and it tastes just fine.' 'You'll leave the Pennsylvania ice shop 'bout a quarter to four, read a magazine and then you're in for some more, shove a lot of cream in, gotta keep tum filling, woo woo caramel, you I adore!' This ice cream makes me happy and when I am happy I like to sing. Perhaps if our Glenn had encountered the delights of Ben and Jrry's caramel chew chew ice cream his version of 'chattanooga choo choo' might have been slightly different and he might have been more interested in eating than flying around the place ... more

I have been a fan of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream since I travelled to the States a few times. However, I hadn’t tried this flavour until I cam back to the UK. To describe the ice cream itself doesn’t do it justice, but here goes! It is basically vanilla ice cream with swirls of caramel mixed through. But, the best part is the little chocolate pieces (about the size of chocolate buttons I guess) FILLED with gooey caramel! Need I say more! The experience of diving into the tub with a spoon and discovering one of these delicious pieces and biting in is not to be missed! The cold ice ... more

Advantages Advantages It taste's decidedly gorgeous! Gives a bit'o'oral pleasure and it's naughty.

Disadvantages Disadvantages I wish it was this good without the calories and fat!!

Well some people aren’t really into ice cream in a big way and don’t really understand me for my passion for it. To tell you the truth I didn’t really start LOVING it until my last pregnancy. But even after the birth of my daughter (over 6 months ago now) I still MUST have my ice cream fix at least once a week (we all like something on a regular basis don’t we, ahem!). If my thighs and ass could afford to be any bigger I would quite happily eat ice cream every day and blow the healthy eating but alas my arse and thighs refuse to accommodate my passion. So on with the review I hear you all cry ... more

Advantages Advantages delicious, creamy ice cream

Disadvantages Disadvantages don't even think about the calories!

Wandering around Tesco’s the other day I spied a sight that brought a smile to my lips and a groan to my hips. Ben & Jerry’s ice cream on special offer! Yes, you can currently buy 2 tubs of this wonderful ice cream for just £5! (Normally around £3.80 a tub). Well, how can a girl resist! But which flavours to choose – do I go for those that I have tried and trusted or should I be adventurous and try something different? Curiosity got the better of me and I ended up with a tub of Half-Baked (delicious but gone before I could write an opinion. Note to self – must buy more) ... more

I have just had the most amazing experience and I feel the urge to share it, so here goes! I’ll start at the beginning and let the tension build. I was in my local branch of Asda this morning when I saw the cartons of Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream on offer as ‘Buy two for £5’. There’s the special offer again – you must think I never buy anything for it’s full price!! Actually I don’t if I can help it! Incidentally the normal price for this ice cream is just over £3 for a 500ml tub. Now I have often seen this ice cream on sale at the cinema and in various supermarkets. I have also read a lot of ... more

More ice cream I am afraid! Well, the new Food and Drink category has left me a lot of catching up to do! I have already exhausted the possibilities for writing about my favourite music, films, make-up and websites, and have to rack my brains for new subjects in those sections, but now I can write about my favourite foods – and there are a lot of different ice creams on the list to get through before I can even consider writing about any other kind of food! Caramel Chew Chew is fairly unusual in the Ben and Jerry’s stakes as it focuses ALMOST entirely on one flavour (caramel). The majority of ... more
