Advantages Advantages Open 7 days a week, many branches throughout the country.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive, terrible treatment of negatives, appauling CD scanning service.

I have recently paid for Boot's processing for two rolls of 35mm film from their central Newcastle store. I would strongly recommend you do not consider them for film processing services, because on recieving my processed negatives back, to my horror the person in charge of splicing them had actually made cuts through the images themselves. In some cases several millimetre in to the image. This is impossible to repair, and is massively dissapointing given the work I put into my photography. Given the large space between each frame, this is an extremely shoddy service, and I will be making a ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages Bad service, ruined photographs, no apologies, still charged full price for substandard product.

I used the Guildford branch of Boots recently to have the film in a disposable camera developed and received absolutely substandard service. My film was exposed to light and 10 of my photographs were ruined and not included in my pack of developed pictures. However, when I came to pick up my photos from the store no one informed me of their mistake and I was charged full price for photographs and a CD - with no word being said about the 10 missing photos - I only realised their mistake when I checked my photos at home. I cannot believe their audacity to charge me and not apologise for their ... more

Advantages Advantages Great quality, wonderful staff, low price

Disadvantages Disadvantages Long queuing time during busy times

I have been using Boots - Photo Processing for many years. Today, I went in, in my wheelchair to get some digital photos developed. I noticed that it was difficult to move around to get to the machines. The space was particularly tight, but the staff were very helpful and accommodating. I have tried other Photo Processing places, but I have to say that Boots is my favourite for reliability and time. If you want good photos then you should stick with Boots. When a person thinks about Boots they usually think of chemist, beauty, perfume, soap and then as a last resort, photos. Perhaps you have ... more

Advantages Advantages Good quality printing, using both dye sublimation and conventional chemical techniques

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not the cheapest

This is a review I've decided to write having read someone else's apparantly biased review towards Boots. I'll give a brief review of my experience. I have no complaints with Boots at all. I wanted to cover in detail some of the things that make a key difference in the quality of the prints, which generally isn't covered by other reviewers. I'm quite a serious photographer owning Canon L series pro level equipment and quite a good pocket Nikon camera. I've been doing photography for 25 years using 35mm SLR cameras. I've started using my local Boots for printing. But I'm not exclusively using ... more

    Advantages Advantages great picture quality

    Disadvantages Disadvantages larger sizes non-standard

Having looked at various other photo processing places I opted for Boots as my favourite because of the picture quality. The colours are more towards a warm brownish hue than the blue. Not the cheapest, as some other reviewers have already mentioned but definitely worth it. My one quibble is that some of their bigger sizes are non-standard. Their large pic is 6x9 whereas the more standard option is 6x8; similarly the one size up in Boots is 7x10, whereas the standard size in that range is 7x9 - just look at the frames in shops. This means, of course, that it is more difficult to find the right ... more

4 Stars Quick review of Boots - Photo Processing by JJJPJJ 07/02/2009
Not impressed with the low resolution images. But having discovered the high resolution images and viewed them in paint shop pro and enlarged I give it the thumbs up.

    Advantages Advantages Free!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Only 40 :(

Boots photo processing is a digital print service that has a familiar name behind it, its not the cheapest digital processor online but its extremely reliable and has many useful features that help to get the best quality possible with as little trouble as possible. I don't use their service unless there is a deal on (I am a student and I am tight) at the moment they have a great deal… read on! I put this on here as I have used this service twice and both times I have been extremely happy. At the moment they offer 40 digital print posted to your address for a 1.50 delivery charge (and free ... more

Advantages Advantages Quick and Easy Self Service - Quality - Professional

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not the cheapest

I have a digital camera, and keep my photos on my computer's hard-drive, but occasionally I like to get better and more interesting pictures printed, it just seems so much more natural to hold a real photo than look at it on the screen, plus it's better for showing them to people when a computer or TV isn't available, or giving photos to people who don't have a computer or DVD player. I recently therefore took a batch of my digital photos to Boots to get them printed. Boots now have self service machines for digital photos, which allow either instant, 1 hour or 24 hour printing from various ... more

1 Star Quick review of Boots - Photo Processing by shoi 13/12/2007
The 35mm FILM processing is now awful, grainy, blocky, just poor. The CD from the same negatives looks awful on screen even though the resolution isn't too bad (1832x1240 = 2.2Mpixels ). This from a very nice Pentax slr with very nice lenses and proper Kodak gold 200ASA. Yet the same place at the same time (Cambridge Dec 2007) did some fabulous prints from digital So the problem is in the scanning the negatives, and when I take them back tomorrow I shall tell them so

Will you believe it that Its been 4 weeks since I got married?! had lots of picture taken by my friend, it was just a perfect day, all my friends and family were there, I would put a picture to show how impressive the standar of boots printing is but........well they kind of lost 3 films of my wedding!!!!Boots have a very different opinion in how important are the pictures of your wedding, to be honest I valued my wedding very special and I dont intend to getting married again so I can have some memories so for me when they offered me £150 as compensation you can immagine how hurtfull it was ... more
