    I have dealt with CEX several times in the past and there have been countless problems such as wrong items being sent, faulty goods and poor condition goods. I thought the first few were honest mistakes then I got to know how the company works. Upon trying to contact the customer services you will tend to either have no response or a generic cut and paste that appears to have been written by a machine not a real human.     I spent 350 pounds on a laptop, the battery became faulty and when i went into the shop in sheffield they first said that they could not help as it was software not hardware? I replied that that was rubbish, they then went to get the manager who i could see had no intention of checking my receipt or anything. He said the battery was a consumable in a laptop. I asked him to describe what he thought a consumable was where upon he got upset and said he couldn't explain the terms and conditions to every customer!     Disadvantages Disadvantages Everything! after sales service, communication, contact, refunds.None of this exists.

    Online at webuy.com the service is pathetic, the customer care is beyond pathetic, automated email responses, no contact phone number. 22 days in and yet to receive my product or an explanation as to why I haven't. I have asked for a refund but got an automated response saying the same rubbish. I wish I hadn't bothered buying anything at all. So now I'm in limbo and don't know what is going on. I can only advise people to avoid this company at all costs. Better off paying more for an original product than waiting for what could be months for a second hand one.     Please do yourself a favour - before you use this company check out the reviews, on every site. I didn't read up about the comapny and wasted a load of time and energy. They completely flout the trade descriptions act and lie about vitually everything in the shop. When I complained about customer service the assistant who I dealt with lied about the condition of my phone. I then wrote to the MD and he clearly doesn't give a toss - so the rest of his staff are clearly following his example.     So, I had several DVDs that I wanted to sell, and because I wanted to do it quickly, I decided on CEX after searching the internet. I checked prices on the website, and found that the closest store was in Andover, which is 20 miles away from where we live. When I arrived at the store, the staff were very busy behind the counter, chatting to each other and looking at their phones. When someone finally decided to talk to me, I said that I had some DVDs I did not need anymore. He said they don't buy DVDs for cash today, and carried on chatting.     Living in North Yorkshire there has not been a CEX shop till one in Harrogate popped up. This place will buy old/used DVD's, games and hardware like mobile phones and games consoles. They buy these items and resell them in the same store. Not only do they give you cash for unwanted items they also give you an exchange value which you can use to buy other items in the store which is more then the cash amount.     Because they employ the people many other companies wouldn't, the staff at the Rugby store are the most incompetent morons I have ever had the discomfort of encountering. "yeah it's a grade B mate" well "mate" it got delivered brand new this morning so get a clue. despite this setback I still needed the cash so left my 4S with them for "testing". I returned after the agreed time and was informed it would take a further 20 mins as they were busy. presumably skateboarding in the car park or juggling their balls in the toilet.     I really wouldn't trust this shop. They sold me an ipod for £105, I got home to find that it would only accept about 1gb of music (it was a 120gb ipod). When I took it back to CEX they claimed I had caused physical damage to the hard drive (it was definitely sold faulty to me because it only had 1gb of the last owner's music on it and I didn't drop it as they suggested.) CEX refused to refund my purchase (or exchange or mend it) so I am left with a broken ipod and £105 out of pocket. Please just buy from a friend, ebay, or splash out and buy a new ipod from apple.     I recently attempted to sell my old iPhone 3gs with Cex, hoping to get a offer within a week of them receiving my phone. After 3 weeks of processing my phone and several messages regarding what was happening, I finally received an offer. My excellent condition iPhone had suddenly developed a crack in the headphone jack over its 3 weeks with Cex and the offer I received was £26. Never had my iPhone ever had a problem with it until this time. They are also extremely poor when buying online also.
