    Advantages Advantages 35x Zoom. Better than any camera in this price range.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages The noise level of the zoom motor is noticable in a quiet environment.

    This camera is basically wonderful. I have been looking to upgrade from our original point and shoot to something a small more robust. You know, those dang slim models didn't appear to have the oomph to produce high quality indoor pics from any distance other than about ten feet. Enter the Canon Powershot SX40 HS. This is your all in camera. No where will you discover a camera short of a full on DSLR that can go 35x optical. I have seen 24, but not 35x. How sweet is being able to zoom in at 35x?
