Advantages Advantages Glossy when applied properly

Disadvantages Disadvantages Gloopy, takes ages to dry

I was taken in by Keira Knightley wearing Chanel black nail polish in the Chanel Coco Madamoiselle advert that I just had to buy it for myself. I did not want to be the average goth and buy black nail polish from just anyone, I wanted it to be classy. This nail varnish is more of a lacquour instead of a polish as it comes out quite shiny and thick, and hence you need to have a lot of patience and a life of leisure for you to enjoy this varnish. As it is thick, you only need one coat, however it takes a LONG time to dry properly and buy checking if it is truly dry lightly with your finger, you ... more

Advantages Advantages GLOSSY, STAYING POWER AND PACKAGING

    Disadvantages Disadvantages A TAD PRICEY

Chanel offers an impressive selection of glossy nail polishes at £16 for a 13ml bottle. To some, this may seem a little on the expensive side. However, sometimes we have to splash our cash in order to get the best products available, it’s fair to say that most products that are relatively cheap aren’t as effective as the ones that we pay more for. Recently, I have been incredibly fed up with buying nail polishes and the disappointment I get after using them as they begin to chip after a couple of days, looking cheap and incredibly unattractive. Due to feeling so disappointed I decided it was ... more

    Advantages Advantages Just gorgeous colours

Disadvantages Disadvantages Can be difficult to remove!

Perfectly packaged and £14 ish a 13ml bottle of CHANEL nail polish is a a brilliant present for a girlfriend or family member - every woman loves to recieve CHANEL, however big or small!! Personally I wear the darker coulours.. Rouge Noir (made famous by Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction) and a slightly lighter more metalic dark red Tulipe Noir. Best bits These are very rich colours have a wonderfully glossy finish and are very easily applied (I always twist a tiny bit of cotton wool around the sharp end of a wooden coctail stick & soak it in nail varnish remover to tidy up the edges as darker ... more

Advantages Advantages The best dark, black red around - Easy to apply

Disadvantages Disadvantages Doesn't last too long

Why I purchased it Having spent several weeks avoiding the expensive price tag of a Chanel nail enamel, I ended up trying several 'Rouge Noir' lookalikes. From Revlon to No7, unfortunately none of them looked as dark as in the bottle no matter how many coats I applied. So I decided to bite the bullet, headed off to House of Fraser and handed over £13.50 for what I hoped wouldn't be a disappointment. The Packaging The 13ml enamel comes in a gorgeous little black and gold glossy box with white lettering. Tip out the bottle of nail enamel and it is a stylish square shaped bottle with a glossy ... more

Advantages Advantages Goes on well, good range of shades, polish lasts well in the bottle, removeable

Disadvantages Disadvantages Chips easily compared to other less expensive brands

I treated myself to some Chanel nail polish when buying make up for my wedding a few years ago. I wouldn't normally spend that much on a pot of nail varnish. I personally adore Chanel, and though I'd never bought the polish before, I have bought lipstick, perfume etc from time to time, and always feel a million dollars in it. I'm sure that's totally psychological, but then that's a lot of what make-up is for, isn't it? So, having shelled out 11 quid (in 2004, in a duty free shop -OMG) I took it home to try it. Now when at work I wear nail polish most of the time, tend not to bother with a base ... more

    Advantages Advantages Colour lasts.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Cost and not a great handle.

♣♣♣ Price ♣♣♣ This is available from Fenwick priced at £13.00 for a 13ml bottle….. ouch! A hefty sum to pay for a varnish but since I got this as a gift, I'm not complaining! However it's worth taking a look on ebay for cheaper deals or even www.bizrate.co.uk which searches for slightly lower prices for you. ♦♦♦ Packaging ♦♦♦ The varnish comes in a black box with a gold trim and white lettering, along with the colour number and name, in this case it was 18, Rouge Noir Open the box and you are faced with quite a chunky ... more
