Advantages Advantages comfort, features, fuel, power, handling, everything really.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

HI I recently bought one of these off ebay, and it is a great car. There is only one tiny thing that I could possibly criticise it for, and that's that occaisonally I hit my head getting in the drivers seat. I can drive to Scotland and back in comfort, the car is so effortless to drive it almost drives itself. It handles well on motorways and local roads, and has so many extras gadgets and features that I feel as if I should have paid £10k more for the car. When deciding whether or not to buy this car I read Jeremy Clarkson's review and he says that the C5 is a little cheap and needs to play ... more

3 Stars Quick review of Citroen C5 2.0hdi estate by DrTim 05/09/2007
After 60,000 miles relativly trouble free driving -comfortable, roomy and powerful enough and 40mpg. apart from the road noise, my 2 big problems are: (1) the drivers seat which has NO lateral support (I am not particularly thin!) and: (2) the fixed toe-in that causes the rear tyres (£120 each) to wear bald on the outer side with none on the inner -front tyres last about 30,000 miles with my driving but the rear were almost bald on the outer side, untouched inner, by this tme. On the Xantia est. I did not have to replace rear tyres for 90,000 miles. ... more

1 Star Quick review of Citroen C5 2.0hdi estate by ampshirelad 21/05/2007
Car almost a year old & still Citroen UK unable to correct engine fault. The car fails to respond to the accelerator & then engine slowly decelerates. The only solution is to restart the car. It cannot be trusted in overtaking manouvers and is very scary on motorways. Must agree with an earlier posting - the ride is POOR, worse than the old Citroen ZX and that had normakl suspension. Very disappointing compared to the old GSA's.

Advantages Advantages Lack of road noise, interesting shape, roomy.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too many faults, disappointing suspension, oil leaks, poor dealer support

Within minutes of taking delivery of this car I discovered the first of many faults - the indicators didn't work. And this after supposedly having a full PDI. Other faults have included: Repeated oil leaks Continuous suspension problems Vibration at 70 mph Pulling to left (no fix according to dealer) Knocking from steering Intrusive whine from gearbox Creaking from front side windows Problems have not always been resolved properly by main local dealer under warranty (despite written complaints) and in some cases, no supporting paperwork has been produced to verify what parts have been used ... more
