I am a driver, but I do also enjoy having an evening out in the pub having a small number of pints with friends. More often than not we all tend to go very close to where we live which means that nobody has to drive (thus meaning that everyone can have a drink), but on those occasions whereby we may go slightly further afield then one of us will take it in turns to be the nominated driver – and so therefore, will not drink. Or very much rather, will not drink alcohol I must point out! I must also state that during the course of this review, I am actually in fact going to be writing things ... more

Clearly drunk driving is by far the worse sin for any driver to partake in, apart from hit n run, of course, and the day they invent speed cameras that can detect the drunks is the one we long await. The solution to get more drunks off the road is with more traffic cops but the Labor government decided to cut back on those traffic cops and put up more speed cameras, so allowing more drunks to drive but hoping more will be banned by that pure volume of cameras and so by a statistical likelihood only. To be fair those cameras did work in places and there has been a 40% reduction in the amount of ... more

The old excuse of 'I've only had the one' simply does not wash. It takes about 15 min for the alcohol you have drunk to start to enter your blood stream hence the impairment of judgement is delayed. Drinking coffee after also has no effect on the impairment as it is not actually the alcohol which gives the reduction in reaction times. As the alcohol is broken down the by-products coat the ends of the neurones in the brain. This slows down how quickly the signals can get through. Caffeine will not prevent these by-products being produced so won't effect the 'drunken' feeling (this is according ... more

4 Stars Quick review of Drink Driving Debate by rcp72 04/05/2008
I am a law enforcement officer and have been for the past 20 years. I have been with those who have been in for drinking and driving crimes. From DUI to Vehicular homicide. Being among those who have actually did the crime(once) I feel that the remorse that they show is really touching. That is after the alcohol has worn off. At this point in their life they believed that this is the bottom of their punishment. Some has lost family, jobs, homes etc because of the crime they knew they were committing. Drinking and driving is a serious crime because ... more

Drink driving essentially involves being in charge of a motor vehicle when you have 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath (or 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood). This could involve sleeping in your car whilst you are in possession of your car keys. So having a kip in a pub car park could mean you lose your license, face a fine and/or serve time in jail. This to me seems little extreme, but then again I'm sure a court would be lenient on you if all you were doing was getting a bit o sleep. The limit of 35 Mg can be as little as two pints of beer and this ... more

Drink driving the the worst crime someone could commit not only should they lose their liscence for this they should be given a life sentance for endangering the life of others. as it is unfair that someone who is that stupid should drive and if they killed a young child or anyone they recieve a small jail term and that is about it. this is unfair as it is the same as murder as they knew they were to drunk to drive. no one deserves to be killed and no one deserves to be given lenient sentences for killing someone as how is it fair that being a drink driver has such a low punishment when you ... more

Drink driving is stupid and should be better enforced and people who have even the smallest of alcoholic drink should not get behind of wheel of what is technically a lethal weapon. Alcohol slows the bodies reaction time and makes even the safest of drivers a danger on the roads, therefore the current law should be reviewed and the law changed so people can not drive if they drink any alcohol at all. Most people, when they have had a drink, feel invincible and believe they are the greatest drivers in the world, but the truth is that they are a danger themselves and, more importantly, to others ... more

I must say that I have never driven a car after having a glass or two, but I have been in a car with someone who drives after drinking. I don't go out drinking with this guy now. He just will not stop doing it. To drink and drive is the most stupid thing you can ever do. Its going to end up with you either killing someone or killing yourself. The LAW lets you get off with a charge of Manslaughter. This should be Murder. Anyway, I'm not here for the ratings on this one. This is something that came to my email adddress at work from a friend. It will sum up the end of what will happen someday if ... more

MY EXPERIENCE. NOW LET THIS BE A LESSON TO PEOPLE OUT THERE, LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE...... My story begins on 4th October 2001, (setting the scene) it was a quite cold rainy wintery evening, i got home as usual at around 4:30pm and proceeded to do the usual things (Mr routine) such as relax and eat my tea and watch TV, then have a nice long shower and get dressed, ready for a long evening in the pub ahead. The time is now 7pm, and I'm driving to meet my mate Mick at the pub we always went to, as it was our favourite, it wasn't too busy, and it always had entertainment on a Friday night, such as ... more

I was never really interested in passing my test and didn't even have any driving lesson's until I was 23. Thing is, I was to interested in going out and having fun, getting drunk, staggering home etc... I know one or two people (I am ashamed to say) who seem to think that they can set their own limits. The legal limits are not an issue to them. I will not get in their cars and I try to disuade anyone else from doing so. At the end of the day, If I am going out drinking, then I don't take my car and if I do, then i don't drink. It is not just that I think it is wrong, it is because it is wrong ... more
