Advantages Advantages Good service, Free collection and delivery, Discount card

Disadvantages Disadvantages None I can think of

I bought my new Puma from Sandicliffe in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire. So far I am happy with the service (I have only had the car since middle of January though!). I had been to another Ford dealer in Derby, and been given the best price they could do. I then went to the Sandicliffe garage and asked them to beat this price, which they did - albeit by a few pounds! I bought the car on a Finance package similar to Options. Once I had agreed the price, everything was reasonably plain-sailing. I originally wanted the car a week later than I actually picked it up, but asked the garage if I could ... more

~ ~ Ever since old Henry Ford made the Model-T into one of the world’s first popular mass-produced cars, Ford have never been too far from the top of the manufacturer’s league. Today they produce a range of vehicles of all sizes and types, which they market internationally on every continent and in nearly every country on the planet. So it hardly comes as a surprise that here in the UK and Ireland Ford is the car of choice of literally millions of motorists. There are more used Fords on the second hand car market than any other marque, and it is these I am going to look at briefly ... more

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Location

With all the talk of UK car prices and the hassle of importing I thought I would add my own experiences to the pot. As there is no general section here I've put this opinion under Ford as thats where my experience lies but what I say really goes for all manufacturers. Before I give you all my tips for saving money without going abroad I'll just put forward a bit of information about why you find it hard to purchase from abroad. ~~~ Manufacturers Won't Supply RHD Cars ~~~ I sometimes get a little worked up when I hear the people on "Watchdog" telling the viewers that the manufacturers ... more

Advantages Advantages Very efficient, excellent competitiveness, good customer service and knowledge of products in which they sell and in which they give.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Did not send a reminder about MOT and service due

I purchased a Ka this time last year. This was my first own car as the rest of the time I had been driving my parents cars. As it was my first car to buy, I was a fore front of heavy sales pressure. As I was looking around the cars, I had a sales person come up to me and tryed to sale me a car, but I had a good idea what I wanted. For some reason, they wanted me to go for a feista, yet i new that it is more expensive to run and insure, although it is cheaper to buy. As I only was looking at a KA, they went out there way to find me a second hand one that was in good condition. Two days later, I ... more

Advantages Advantages Great range of cars

Disadvantages Disadvantages They can go wrong

There is always loads of bad publicity around about Ford. "Always going wrong they are. You wouldnt get me in a Ford" say most people. Yet if this is the case, how come they are by far the most common car on the road? I tell you why. They fit most peoples budget, they are cheap to run and they are easy to fix. Also, there is normally a vehicle in their range to fit with most people's requirements. They began with humble beginnings in America as just another automobile manufacturer. They revolutionised the automated car assembly procedure. Through it, they have been one of the major ... more

Four years ago we bought our first new car, at Ford Wilton at the Mercuriusweg in The Hague. Before we payed the car, in cash, we were treated as kings. After paying, well, things changed. Within the first six months of owning the car we had trouble with the radio-cd player. Cd's would just stop playing. We went back to Wilton but after about four tries they still could not find the problem. At our request the cd player was replaced. The new cd player started showing the same problem, though. Months later, this cd player was replaced to, even after we already had come to the conclusion it ... more

Advantages Advantages You can buy a car

Disadvantages Disadvantages You will not get value for money, guaranteed

Well it’s been a while since I worked for this manufacturer, so I think I can safely dig the knife in now. You all see the sparkly Ford adverts on the TV and some of you have probably been persuaded by those adverts, if not to buy a car, then to at least check them out. What I am going to do in this opinion is give you a little insight into the goings on behind the nicely decorated “Customer Facing Area”. I will start at the start (for it is best to do things this way occasionally), I started working for a Ford dealer about four years ago as a trainee parts person. I earned ... more

Advantages Advantages Friendly staff and a great warranty

Disadvantages Disadvantages sometimes hard to get there (if the car has broken down)

I fell pregnant last year and with 3 kids already we needed a new car as the tin can we had made us all feel like sardines. We did the usual of trailing round all the garages (like you do) trying to find a car that was suitable for us and at the right price. We knew we needed an mpv (it was either that or a mini bus)so we donned our walking shoes and off we trecked with ankle biters in tow. It was a complete nightmare looking at all the garages and not knowing if we were going to get a good deal or be ripped off. We came home quite dejected and we decided to look on the web to see what write ... more

Tell somebody that you have a Ford and immediately you've created an image of a salesperson, driving about looking for somebody to pounce apon for their next sale. You think of cheap, run of the mill, unreliable and every other bad thing you can mention regarding cars. But I am going to put the record straight and tell you the old Ford lives no more. So first, lets take everybody’s favourite, the mondeo. Has that salesman image crept back into your head? Well let’s analyse this for a moment. If the mondeo is a poor quality car and is unreliable, then why do over 30% of UK companies ... more

After buying two Ford 1.7 litre Pumas at the end of 2000 I must say I have not regretted our choice of car for one moment.Wanting to get a good resale value on the cars as well as them being under guarantee I decided to stick with Ford Main Dealer Service near us in West Byfleet.I decided to ask our friendly dealer to order us custom mats and fit mudflaps to both cars.No problem both cars were fitted within days and they looked fantastic with the new mudflaps in place and this also protected the cars in the most vulnerable spots behind every wheel. On my car(my co-workers car was fine) the mud ... more
