Advantages Advantages Feels more luxurious and tastes better than the Cadbury's equivalent

Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit expensive to be a budget buy

Word of warning to start with - don't go and work in a supermarket. Admittedly you get paid at the minimum wage but being around food all day (especially when you're a hard-up student and you should really be saving), being able to plan out what you're going to have for your tea - or what treats to buy and take home with you for the evening - it's just too convenient to resist! And this is how I got onto Green and Black's. I was just at the age when I worked part-time during college to be getting a say in what went in the shopping basket, so it's really my fault we haven't bought Cadbury's ... more

Green& Black's organic Hot chocolate is one of the best hot chocolate drink ever. I bought Green & Black 's organic Hot chocolate because of my milk intolerance problem. The ingredients is a fusion of dark chocolate with Organic Raw Cane Sugar, Organic Fat-Reduced Cocoa Powder, Organic Dark Chocolate Powder (Organic Chocolate Liquor, Organic Raw Cane Sugar, Organic Cocoa Butter, Soy Lecithin, (Emulsifier) and Organic Vanilla Extract. Green & Blacks Organic Hot Chocolate taste the best when added to hot, fresh milk giving you a cocoa-rich chocolate drink with a creamy froth. For those with a ... more

    Advantages Advantages Tastes divine!!!

Disadvantages Disadvantages not very thirst quenching, but who cares when it tastes this good?!

It all began when i became a huge fan of Green and Blacks dark chocolate. I decided to expand on the range of Green and Black products i tried! When i saw the hot chocolate on the shelf, i couldn't resist! it was love at first sight! For those that have tried Green and Blacks chocolate, i would describe this drink as being the melted version! for those who have not, try it, but i will attempt to explain the glorious experience of the Green and Blacks world! This hot chocolate drink is not as sweet as many other brands. It has a bitter taste that lingers in your mouth. As the drink uses milk ... more

Advantages Advantages The best hot chocolate you will ever buy in a supermarket, simply the best

Disadvantages Disadvantages As far as I am concerned there really are none, bar you need to use more than they say on the packet

Green & Black's are without doubt one of the best chocolatiers in the UK. The hot chocolate is very very good indeed. It is easy to make, just add a few heaped spoonfuls to hot milk, stir or if you fancy it a bit frothy whisk, and drink. What you are drinking is a very chocolately hot chocolate, unlike others on the market which rely more on a sugar hit Green and Black's actually tastes of chocolate. Why do we put up with such inferior goods that someone like myself is actually pleased to say they have found hot chocolate that tastes of chocolate? It's a bit like saying this strawberry really ... more

    Advantages Advantages Chocolatey, creamy, luxury

Disadvantages Disadvantages More expensive than other brands

My mum first bought this about a year ago, thinking it would be nice to try some luxury hot chocolate. From Tescos it costs about £2.20 a jar, but we bought it in a six pack from a food group (suma) which made it a bit cheaper. Packaging: ************ A cylindrical jar made of dark brown glass with a black screw lid. The label is dark brown and simple, with gold writing. Just the jar and label somehow looks luxury. On the label it says "Green & Black's Organic" It comes in a 300g jar. On the back of the label it has information about the hot chocolate, directions, ingredients (in four ... more

Advantages Advantages Tastes brilliant, fair trade and organic

Disadvantages Disadvantages Costs more.......but worth it

OK, lets be honest, we ladies need our chocolate. There are things I could give up..... there are things I couldn't. I'm afraid chocolate is in the latter category, orgasms, well, if I had this every day, they may well be relegated.... 'cos I'd have them anyway! Who Makes It? Advantages Advantages No aftertaste. Smooth.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Price can vary.

I've been buying Green & Blacks Hot Chocolate for at least a couple of years. I normally have a nice big mug every night before bed. I pay £2.49 for a 300g jar from Tesco in their Kensington branch. It's normally stocked in the Organic section. I used to buy it in ASDA before moving to London and I'm sure it's cheaper now in Tesco than it was then in ASDA. I think it was priced nearer £3.50 when I first bought it. All the ingredients are Organic as the name suggests. The 3 main ones are cane sugar, cocoa and dark chocolate. The taste is wonderfully rich and there's no bitter aftertaste. I find ... more

    Advantages Advantages Gorgeous choc-fix

Disadvantages Disadvantages None at all, whatsoever

All those complaints in other ops about this manna from heaven being too expensive has driven me to complain. How expensive is pure pleasure in an instant? This stuff is wonderful. Dark & creamy, soft & not too sweet, it's the perfect chocolate fix for those who don't generally feel the need to keep chocolate in the house. It just lurks quietly in the cupboard (at the back if you're posessive) until called upon to deliver the goods. With 60% cocoa solids in the 16.3% Organic Chocolate it is made from, and almost 30% Organic Cocoa Powder, it has more proper chocolate flavour than the insipid ... more

    Advantages Advantages authentic flavour, organic

    Disadvantages Disadvantages the price!

On getting up this morning I wandered down to the kitchen to make myself a hot drink in the hope that this would wake me up properly. Peering into the cupboard I saw the usual array of coffees, teas and flavoured hot chocolate, then spied a brown jar nestling towards the back of the cupboard - Green & Black's Organic Hot Chocolate. I think this has been sitting in the cupboard for a while - I don't remember it being there, but I'll give it a go anyway. As the label says, this product is organic. Organic here means that every ingredient is organic, not just the major constituents, as can happen ... more

    Advantages Advantages organic, great tasting

    Disadvantages Disadvantages expensive

I cannot fault 'Green and Black's' at all-chocolate that's organic! Beat that! I'm a huge believer in buying organic and for christmas i got 6 bars of their choclate and 2 jars of their hot chocolate. Ok, that makes me sound like a total chocoholic! But they're so expensive so i only get them on special occasions!!! Sob, sob... :-D Anyway, onto the subject in hand:hot chocolate. The hot chocolate is made by blending dark chocolate with raw cane sugar, and cocoa powder pressed from the same cocoa beans as the chocolate, to add extra intensity (to quote the manufacturers!) It has minimum of 60% ... more
