Advantages Advantages Great deals, Good layout

Disadvantages Disadvantages Needs to have more plain sandwiches and bagettes

Greggs have a range of foods from hot foods such as pasties mmm...or cheese pizza to cold foods such as crisps and cheese scones and the classic Stotties for Geordie's in my experience Greggs have fantastic value food however, the lack of simple plain sandwich fillings in my opinion sometimes ruin things when you want a plain sandwich. Instead of cheese they have cheese savory instead of just chicken they have chicken and mayonnaise. I would recommend Greggs for people who do not mind those sorts of fillings but plain filling lovers this is not the food shop for you. However their pastries are ... more

Advantages Advantages Nice variety of stock, cheap, very tasty

Disadvantages Disadvantages The queues at peak times, breakfast baps can occassionally be a little dry

Everyone loves a nice slice of cake and Greggs has a wide variety to chose from, everything from eccles to lardy. They also stock a range of savoury snacks such as sandwich's, sausage rolls, pizza slices etc. The quality of food from my local Greggs has always been very good, the sandwich's are always fresh with a nice amount of filling, my only gripe being the limited amount of flavours. Other savoury snacks such as the bakes and pizzas are also very tasty and there really is something for everyone. The prices are very reasonable with savoury and sweet items for less than a pound. Greggs is ... more

Advantages Advantages cheap, filling quick food

Disadvantages Disadvantages not so great for diets

I am a huge fan of cheap and cheerful Gregg's, there are 7 in Nottingham city centre with each one being no more than a 5 minute walk from my work place...very dangerous for my hips!!! Gregg's was founded in the 1930's in Tyneside, but now has expanded to having approximately 1,400 shops throughout the UK. Its advertising slogan is 'The Home of Fresh Baking' and it obviously works as they sell millions of products every day. Gregg's sells pastries, pizza's, cakes, sandwiches, soup and breakfast rolls. They are continuously growing and expanding there range of products to continue to attract ... more

Advantages Advantages Nice tasting, cheap and easy

Disadvantages Disadvantages fattening, not artisan baking

I’m partial to the odd Gregg’s pasty, I mean who wouldn’t be? Up north it’s been a favourite for the mothers feeding their kids, with their special recipe sausage rolls and tasty baps, it’s a fraction of the price compared to Pret or Subway, only if you are looking for a quick lunch that is. Personally, I like to go there after the pubs have closed in town and now Greggs open way past midnight it’s a bonus. I love their cheese pasty and the sausage and bean pasty too. Greggs is what the UK consider a proper baker, even if the goods are not baked on the premisies. Where I was born a baker ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap, filling food; nice baguettes; efficient serving staff

Disadvantages Disadvantages No guarantee of savouries actually being hot; may be pushing out indepedents

As the Greggs juggernaut rumbles ever onward, there must surely be fewer and fewer people who haven't experienced what is now one of Britain's largest fast food chains, with the number of their shops running well into four figures. They call themselves the country's largest specialist bakers, but really that phrase makes them sound like some old-fashioned small concern, when in fact although they consisted of a single shop in Tyneside until the 1970s, they're now a massive business that would be better compared to the takeaway divisions of the likes of McDonald's or Subway. Advantages Advantages Freshly made produce, reasonably priced

Disadvantages Disadvantages Lack of nutritional infor= nightmare for dieters or those with allergies

I have been inspired to write a review of Greggs this morning following my experience in store today. Having said this, I have been a Greggs shopper for many years now. Recently starting the weight watchers diet I have been taking my own lunch to work so I can add up my points which more ease, but today I had nothing in the fridge. I therefore went out to Greggs. Greggs, for those of you who don't know, is a bakers. I've been lead to believe that Greggs and Bakers Oven are actually the same people; key difference in my town is that you can eat in at Bakers Oven but only take away from Greggs ... more

Advantages Advantages Great Prices, Great tasting food.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None.

To be honest, there is not a lot that you can say about Greggs other than, absolutely perfect. Clearly, the highlight of the show is the sausage rolls, if you have never had one, you are seriously missing out. They are gorgeous, whether they are fresh from the shop, cooled in the fridge or re-heated in the oven, they are sure to make your taste buds happy. Of course this is not the only thing that Greggs sell, another of my favourites is, the french bread pizza, which is half a french bread roll, with pizza toppings on, it is very nice, however, very greasy, then there is the chicken french ... more

Advantages Advantages Great staff, lots of lovely products on offer, some nice cheaper cakes.

Disadvantages Disadvantages A little pricey for some of the sandwiches & loaves of bread.

Greggs is a chain of bakeries which specialise in making pastries, bread, sandwiches, cakes & buns. There are many of them all over the country and we have two or three here in Harlow which just goes to show how popular they must be. Everytime I visit Greggs, no matter what store or what time there is a queue of at least 4 or 5 people and I popped downstairs to Greggs today to buy a nice sliced loaf of Tiger Bread and I was met with a queue of 6 people browsing of the items on offer and taking forever to make their decisions once they had got to the front of the queue. There is two or three ... more

    Advantages Advantages quick and tasty

    Disadvantages Disadvantages ques

There were so many choices of restaurant out there so I was'nt keen on popping up to any baker shop on the high street to have something to eat but while going out shopping with my cousin, she asked me to grabbed a snack at greggs and I tried the sausage roll and a drink. It's quite busy and you have to que but the waiting wasn't that bad because the service was quite fast. I actually enjoyed that quick snack I had. The sausage roll is quite tasty, so from then on I usually snapped something from greggs whenever I have a chance. Especially when I'm in a hurry and feel a bit hungry, It's an ... more
