Advantages Advantages great songs, portable guitar hero!

Disadvantages Disadvantages awkward gaming style, pain through your arm while playing

This game shocked me when I got it off the shelf at my local electronics store. I thought how can you make guitar hero on a ds. However, this game lived upto its legacy by providing me with some great little songs. There are down sides to this game, the first and most important one is HOW DO YOU HOLD THE DS WHILE PLAYING THE GAME?! This baffled me at first and really annoyed me stopping me from playing it at the beginning. This passed and I went crawling back to guitar hero on tour. In my opinion, it is too agonising to play this game and enjoy it at the same time. Buy at your wrists risk! At ... more

Advantages Advantages A fabulous game for the Ds which is easy to use! :)

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not compatible with the new DSi consoles but this isn't made apparent to people enough!

Guitar Hero on the DS My brother got a Nintendo DSi for Christmas off my parents, and my mum bought him this game off Amazon for him, but when it came I was looking at the DSi to make sure it was ok and not broken etc before Christmas day and noticed that it has no GameBoy advance game slot, which is what the Guitar Hero DS needs to work! So my brother lost out on the game whilst I on the other hand made good when I was given the game myself to play on my DS Lite (which does have a Gameboy Advance slot!). This is the first downside to the game, it is NOT made aware to buyers that it is not ... more

Advantages Advantages Some good songs on it

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not that challenging or that great of a game

I bought this game with a great deal of excitement as I love the Guitar Hero games for the playstation and the Xbox. However Guitar Hero D.S didnt really give me the challenge or the thrill that I normally get from playing these games. So What Went Wrong? The first thing I noticed that was disappointing about this game was the fact that there was only four buttons to play with instead of the usual five on the other consoles. This made gameplay a lot more dull and not as challenging as the other games. The next thing I faulted with this game is that the DS does not have a great sound capability ... more

Advantages Advantages addictive, fun to play

Disadvantages Disadvantages can hurt your hand if you play for too long

I'm not your typical everyday rock goddess(!) Now we don't need to go into all the examples available as to why not, that would be mean but what surprised me was how much I enjoy playing this game. If you'd of told me a few years back that I would become addicted to a game involving pressing buttons in time to a song, well, I wouldn't of believed you. Simple as that really. On having a go on somebody elses DS though, I became sucked into the Guitar Hero franchise. Hell, it's going to be the only chance I have on playing a guitar at a top level. Like all the other Guitar Hero games you will ... more

Advantages Advantages DS only tracks, new 'blow' features, improved guitar battles

Disadvantages Disadvantages Some users may find the palm strap annoying and uncomfortable

When I found out the plans that Guitar Hero was going to be released on the Nintendo DS I laughed. When I seen the promotional trailer of Guitar Hero on the Nintendo DS with people strumming away on their handhelds I laughed even harder! One day not long after Guitar Hero On Tour got released I seen a member of staff in GAME playing around with it. I sniggered and walk up to him and asked him how it was. He showed me and gave me it to try, but I refused to begin with and watched him play some more - I still remembered how foolish the people looked on the promo trailer and not to mention how ... more

    Advantages Advantages great

    Disadvantages Disadvantages song choice

For Christmas this year I was given the limited edition Guitar hero Nintendo DS which comes with the Guitar Hero on Tour game, I was not disappointed this is a great game. Guitar Hero is a game that has taken the world by storm and is available in a format for every games console. They have done really well to create the game on the DS, especially as they are unable to create a big guitar to connect to you DS to make you feel like a real rockstar. The guitar grip works well with the compact console and is great as you can take it anywhere, as all other guitar hero games on other consoles are ... more

Advantages Advantages Great fun to play.

Disadvantages Disadvantages The Guitar Grip is an awful design

I received this game for Christmas 2008 and despite some problems, I found myself enjoying it immensely and loving every minute of it. Here's my review. Hope everyone had a great Christmas. About the Guitar Hero Franchise The game is developed by Vicarious Visions and published by RedOctance and Activision, and has now become a franchise of games, with a different version on every console possible nearly. The game has become mass popular all around the world, the first game I believe went to Play station 2 and the game could be played with either the controls on the controller or if you want ... more

Advantages Advantages good for on move

Disadvantages Disadvantages very tricky and narrow buttons

Playing this game was far from enjoyable. The buttons were far too small and hitting notes had to be nimble and fox like. With there being 4 buttons on the side of the console they had to be narrow beyond a humans skill capability. The songs that were on the game were good and very pleasing to play some I enjoyed very much. The bonus song were good add on's and an incentive to complete the different modes you can also buy different guitars. Compared to the xbox 360 version and all realistic sized guitar versions this is a portable game and nothing else. If you wish to enjoy guitar hero at its ... more

Advantages Advantages Brilliant portabillity lets the rock demon inside of you play where ever he wants.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Unfortunaly your hands start to hurt after long playing hours.

Guitar Hero on the Nintendo DS? Yes Vicarious Visions have finally brought this classic to the Nintendo DS in the form of Guitar Hero: On Tour. After the success of their other games on the big consoles will Guitar Hero still be a hit on the DS? In my opinion yes it will. After playing the game solidly for the last week, I still havent died from repetitive boredom which is more than i can say about a few recent releases on the Nintendo DS. The sound of Guitar Hero is actually pretty impressive considering your playing on a handheld console. Even though I said that it had good audio quality you ... more
