Highs and lows with HTC Wildfire S 30/05/2013

When I got this phone nearly two years ago it was my first smartphone and I was really impressed at first but now I can't wait to upgrade to something a little bit more hi-spec. ***The Phone*** The HTC Wildfire S was brought out in 2011 as an upgrade on the wildfire model. Design wise it is a fairly standard looking touch screen phone but is a little smaller than the likes of a Samsung Galaxy but not much smaller than an iPhone (it's dimensions are 101.3 x 59.4 x 12.4 and weighs 105 grams) while I opted for a black finish to my phone as I worry about white phones getting marked in my bag. Advantages Easy to navigate, small and compact
Disadvantages Low memory and short battery life

The HTC Wildfire is a simple but a great little phone. I first got this phone with a little bit of hesitation at first. I thought all smart phones were difficult to use. However, the HTC has completely changed that. The HTC is a very attractive looking phone. It is small and compact. Although no Iphone, the HTC fights its corner, for anyone who does not like bulky mobiles, the HTC is for you. The touch keypad is easy to use with big on screen buttons. Handy Wee Smartphone, but Poor Memory 10/07/2012

Advantages All of the apps in the Android Store - an app for everything
Disadvantages Poor processing memory lets it down. Battery life not great, either.

I like my wee smartphone - enough to have it repaired when I recently dropped it into water, in fact. It does everything I want it to do - camera, mp3, organiser, notebook, internet browsing, emails, as well as phoning and texting. I can even use Google docs and Wordpress on it because there are apps for these. However, the big thing that lets it down is its memory. It just doesn't have enough processing memory for all the bells and whistles it possesses. I get very frustrated, when I try to look at photos or listen to a track and my phone tells me I don't have enough memory, so I have to ... more

My partner has this phone and his journey with it has gradually gone downhill. He has had it for around a year now, and when he first purchased it, it was all good. It looks great and seemed to have all the features you would expect from a mid-range smart phone. He particularly liked the weather feature, where you would see windscreen wipers going across the screen if it was going to rain, etc. (well...simple things!). He was able to download a number of apps and really enjoyed using the phone and the functionality seemed good. However, as time has gone on, he is unable to download apps ... more

Is It Any Better? Wildfire S 26/06/2012

Advantages Good Battery Life, Lots Of Feature, Strong Build.
Disadvantages Design Is Horrible.

Okay so i should start of by saying i used to have the HTC Wildfire (Not S), and honestly i would choose it over this anyday. Considering this is the upgrade i don't think it has any more useful features and the design is horrible. Just my opinion, but the phone is too small and generally uncomfortable to use. I have big hands but stil it is alot smaller than most smartphones on the market, this may be a pro to you, i don't know. Now i think the screen size is the same, but the actual phone is smaller, it no longer has the four buttons at the bottom and instead these are now touch screen ... more

Advantages It has a lots of additional software features, which is awesome!!
Disadvantages It has slow data network. And I'd prefer a bigger screen perhaps.

I personally feel like I have everything I need at the tip of my finger. It's touch screen and most applications are already installed for you, what more could you ask for? The video recording and camera are great, but with my experience with other phone I got to say I was a bit disappointed. It's super easy to use. It also features a 3.2 inch capacitive touchscreen, a 5 megapixel camera and Wi-Fi calling/hotspot capabilities! The price range in Canada if I'm correct is 240 - 300$ you could get it in contract for no more 0 $ if you'd like. In UK the price range is approximately 140 - 300 ... more

I purchase my HTC 6 months ago and would say I am pretty happy with the product. The touch screen is good although can sometimes take a few attempts to respond, but this could just be because it needs re-calibrating. I got mine on a contract for £15 per month and got a good deal on what was included so overall, the price for me is fantastic. The camera on the phone is brilliant and it also has a video camera option too but I have not used this yet. There are lots of every day things on it too such as clock, alarm clock, calendar etc which are useful. This phone does not have very much storage ... more

I have been a user of the HTC Wildfire S phone for 3 months now and I am really ahppy with it. It is a small compact phone but still does everything the larger phones do. It has plenty of memory as it comes with a 2g memory card. One of the great things with this phone is that you can choose what you like to have on the display icons, the only downfall here is that is quite tricky to figure out how to do in the beginning. This phone is bellow average standards set other phone companies like apple. I am a high school student and from morning to the end of school with the phone being 90% of the time on stand by, it need to be charged again. Its battery is very small. Also the key board for texting is not very easy to text with and gives off the feeling of cramped. Also this phone internal memory is way to small for anything more than Facebook app and some games. I have to go and clean out old text and temperate memory so i can text. Other than that its a pretty good phone a lot of apps and different features. But ... more
