    As a small boy, my dad read 'The Hobbit' to my brother and I, but it wasn't until I was 18 that I read 'The Lord of the Rings'; it took me a couple of months to read, but I was hooked forever on this author. After LOTR came 'The Silmarillion', and then I put my Tolkien reading on hold as I began my English degree. Sadly, Tolkien didn't show up on my reading list for the English Degree I pulled myself through, but I got my own way in the end, writing a 9000 word dissertation on the Christian themes in 'The Lord of the Rings'.
