Advantages Advantages High standard of educated and great location

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive around London

I have been studying Business Management at Kings college at the Waterloo campus and have had an excellent experience there. Located on the Southbank it is located in a vibrant area yet quieter than it is north of the river. There is plenty to do around the area and lots of bars to go to after a hard day of education! The standard of learning at Kings is great and truly feel as if I have learnt soo much during my time at Kings. The staff are all very knowledgeable and always willing to offer advice and support. You are assigned a personal tutor who will always help you out if you ever get ... more

Advantages Advantages Excellent facilities, qualified professors

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Halls

Last year, I made one of the most important decisions of my life: to attend King\'s College. This decision has changed almost every aspect of me as this is the type of University that really impacts students on daily basis. The first time I applied to University was in the end of 2005. I had attended a French high school abroad and was a top student throughout most of my school career. Although I did have excellent grades, I always had a low morale as my high school was run by an administration which had transformed it into an enterprise. Competition between students was used as a tool to ... more

Advantages Advantages In London, Excellent Reputation

Disadvantages Disadvantages Strand Campus, Expensive, Poor Halls

I was at Kings last year and decided to leave. Despite this I still have some fond memories and can appreciate some of its good points. Firstly the reason I chose it, its excellent reputation...when you tell people you're at Kings most are fairly impressed, which is always a nice feeling. However I realised later on that this is not the best reason to pick a Uni or stay at it. Kings has some great facilities unfortunately most are located on the Guy's campus and are dedicated to medicine and the sciences. I found the Strand campus and resources committed to the Humanities to be fairly lacking ... more

Advantages Advantages Excellant environment and Teaching facilities.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Alot is expected from the students!

I chose to study ant Kings College London because it is simply the best dental school in Europe! Furthermore, the college has a very remarkable reputation not only for its teaching facilities but also for its research Background Information -- Who, What, Where and Why?-- King's College London was founded by King George IV and the Duke of Wellington, who was then the Prime Minister, in 1829 as a university college in the tradition of the Church of England. It now welcomes staff and students of all faiths and beliefs and is known for its diverse multi-faith environment. The College, since it was ... more

Advantages Advantages Great location, reputation, good teachers

Disadvantages Disadvantages Some of the halls

King's main campus is located on the Strand, there couldn't be a better London location, overlooking the river. Its fantastic. The library is THE best place to work. It is the former Public Records Office and is a beautiful building which has been transformed inside into a state of the art library. I studied history which King's has a great reputation for. The course was excellent and varried, and the opportunity to follow courses in other Uni of London colleges was great. The course is different to those in most unis as there was very little time spent being taught. To do history at King's ... more

Advantages Advantages Location, varied degrees, fab library, different campuses with different vibes

Disadvantages Disadvantages Strand campus is like a rabbit warren, accomodation is pricey,

I was very impressed by the location of the Strand campus. Nearby Covent Garden is excellant for shopping, scoffing and sipping lattes whilst the world goes by. The view from the student union bar is amazing as it overlooks the Thames it has a nice friendly atmosphere and a good selection of specialist nights with cheap (well for London!) prices. Being part of the University of London it also gives students access to the facilities of UCL and LSE to name but the nearest. The staff I have come into contact with have been friendly and helpful and all have impressive CVs and a wide range of ... more

Advantages Advantages Good teaching, heart of London, very modern

Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive, too many students

I chose King's College becasue of it's good reputation, and after visiting it for the first time, it's impressive, high- tech buildings equipped with the latest computers and equipment. Of the 4 campuses, I find that Waterloo and Guy's campus are the most pleasant and modern. Worst of all is the Strand campus, a network of old and new buildings, very grim and easy to get lost in. The teaching overall is very good, but also depends on what course you are doing. This uni is for students who achieve quite high A level grades e.g BCC is the average minimum to get an offer of a place. The ... more

Advantages Advantages high standards of education

Disadvantages Disadvantages sometimes too packed and busy

I have finished my B.A. as well as my Master's at King's and I now belong to the PhD academic staff. Life at King's is excellent as it is located in the heart of London and it is really busy and full of lively crowds. I was impressed and I still am by the wide range and the large variety of courses available. The same is for all the student clubs and communities you can join. The academic staff are fantastic and they have always been supporting and helping me. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, this always makes you feel safe and important. ... more

Advantages Advantages Excellent teaching staff, fairly good facilities

Disadvantages Disadvantages Photocopying in library expensive

I had an excellent time at King's. The college had renowned and well respected teaching staff, were involved in interesting research and were genuinely interested in their students. The facilities I found fine. King's is part of the University of London and so most of the facilities of other college are open to students. As a student you have access to most other University of London Libraries. Their is a central Student Union. Its right in the heart of London so everything is easily accessible. I had a great three years there ... more

    Advantages Advantages Good teaching staff

    Disadvantages Disadvantages All the facilities

Kings College is labelled as one of the best Universities Ever. Not true in my experience. Kings College has a shockingly bad library. A shockingly bad catering company and a bar that really is not a bar. The library at the Waterloo Bridge Road Campus is short of books, short of staff, short of a workable library information system, but very high on fines. It is only open from 9.30 to 5.30 weekdays during the summer holidays, even though essays are due in on the 1 September. The food facilities are absolutely awful. They are provided in a weird sort of Food Hall which pretends to offer to ... more
