    This magazine is specifically designed for blokes and boys and not wenches unless they are into looking at other girls. The magazine is very similar to other mens magazines but is still worth buying just to look at the ladies. It contains many different things and not just pictures of sexy ladies but it contains true stories and some very funny jokes. It is a big magazine which contains many things but I reckon it may be worth buying once then seeing what you thought of it, if you liked it you could buy it again. I would say the magazine is targerted for blokes at the age group of about 16 ... more

    Recently I took advantage of a 24 issues for £9.99 online. Great, I thought. I have read FHM before, thats brilliant. Plus I had seen a 250 best Premiership Goals covermount on the issue currently in the shops. So I signed up giving my credit card details. The process was very easy - its all going swimmingly so far. I recieved my first issue within 3 weeks which is a good turnaround time - I usually had to wait double that for other mags. However that was where the good feeling ended when I saw the cover.     It's been a whilst since anyone has reviewed the popular men's publication, "Maxim", so I thought I'd give an up-to-date look at what is on offer. 1. CONTENT I am actually a long time subscriber to Maxim, and always know as soon as it has arrived by the loud "THUD" on the doormat. The latest issue (Mar 2004) has a staggering 192 Pages. This sounds impressive, but lets take a look at what you actually get... Full page advertisements - 59 pages (31 %) Full size photo's - 50 pages (26 %) Fasion pages - 25 pages (13 %) Articles - 23 pages (12 %) Humor - 16 pages (8 %) Interviews - 15 pages (8 %) ... more

    (Theed isn't usually one to alter or update ops, but there are a few petty reasons for adding to this. One - this op was requested a few weeks back - and even though it already existed it still didn't get read. Two, it's the most read op he's written on Ciao. Three, it can actually be legitimately updated. The original's the long bit without the brackets round it...) This is where theediscerning gets on his high horse and slags something off big time.     Loaded Magazine was launched a few years ago and there was a media explosion shortly afterwards, as magazine companies jumped on the bandwagon. No longer were men restricted to Top shelf porn and fishing magazines, they could now enjoy reading something a bit more substantial. Maxim soon emerged to challenge the big boys and is now one of the front runners in the battle for top "lads" magazine.     Maxim magazine is one of the best that I've ever read. It is packed with info about women, sex, gadgets, and sports. Each magazine has several photo shoots of beautiful women, and wonderful advice on how to have one of your own. Though it is not a pornographic magazine, you can certainly get your kicks from it. Most of the photos are half-nude, and of amazingly beautiful women. I would definetly recommend this magazine to any man, or woman. Though I do not subscribe to it, I buy it almost monthly.     Whatever you choose to read into that title, it’ll apply to Maxim, which I chose today because the half-naked lady on the cover was Helena Bonham-Carter and not some pouting nonentity off the Bravo channel or, god help us, Jordan. SPORT AND FASHION, BLAH DE BLAH First, I’ll tell you about my least favourite section in magazines: All those bloody pages of fashion. This season’s ensembles for the man about town can only be described as Lock, Stock and 2 smoking hairdressers, or gay gangster chic.     At 36 am I too old? This is the question I have to ask myself after reading the last 2 issues of Maxim and finding them on the whole to be a pile of humourless trash am I too old, or too married to enjoy a lads mag? My perusing of the mags in the newsagent I still find a lot to titillate and interest me in Loaded or FHM so the only conclusion I can draw is that, comparing them to top shelf publications, Maxim is the equivalent of Fiesta to Loaded’s Mayfair or FHM’s Penthouse i.e. in that in all aspects it lacks quality control.     Advantages Advantages It's the world's best selling men's mag...

    Disadvantages Disadvantages ...but for how long/

    This magazine has all sorts of interesting and entertaining articles. Some are funny, some are serious, some are "educational". My sister disagrees with this sort of magazine because she sees them as exploiting women. I think that the insights in to the lives that other people live (my life is nothing like anything in the mag) is fascinating. If you're a bloke, give this a go. The fashion section is a waste of time since I couldn't bear to be seen in most of the clothes they feature, but then, I'm not a very adventurous person.     As a subscriber to Maxim, I have been sorely downheartened to see the quality of this once great magazine deteriorate. When Maxim launched full frontal onto our news stands, it gave us hope, that not all men's magazines would be adverts and cars. It was the shining light that resurrected our senses. It enabled us to laugh, at ourselves and others, it made us realise that life is fun, who could forget the stories of the Lush on Tour? What has happened to this once great magazine, I hear you ask?
