Disadvantages Disadvantages A little high in calories.

Mr Kipling Cherry Bakewells ~ I adore Bakewell tarts, so much so that once, Hubby and I made a special trip to Bakewell in Derbyshire just so we could try 'the real thing' Anyway a little closer to home and one of my favourite little cakes has now become these Cherry Bakewells by Mr Kipling. These are 6 small cakes made of pastry filled with a layer of plum and raspberry jam and almond flavoured sponge and then topped with a covering of fondant icing and a half of a glace cherry on the top. Each of these cakes come in its own foil casing and they each sit in a plastic tray in their own little ... more

Mr Kipling Cherry Bakewells are individual small cakes. You will be able to buy them in a box which contain 6 . The packaging is in a very colourful red box with the usual logo of Mr Kipling written on the box with also pictures of the mini bakewells so once you open the box you will easy recognise them. Attractively made with pastry base and almond jam filling then a layer of icing which is white with a glace cherry placed in the middle. When you bite into the Cherry Bakewell you find you each mouthful you make you sink into the white icing then the almond and raspberry/plum jam and finally ... more

Advantages Advantages Delicious, makes you happy!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Calories :(

One bite of this delectable cake and you drift away... ***** After a lot of research in 1965, kiplng cakes were designed to improve conffectionary. Since then they have invented many differnt cakes and sweet treats, including Jam Tarts and Mini Battenburg. One popular snack is the Cherry Bakewell! The first thing that attracts me to the Bakewell is the look if it. It looks so simple and posh. The white icing on the top looks so smooth and perfect. You are too scared to even look at it incase the shiny surface begins to crack! Then the glistening cherry on the top adds that bit of fun to the ... more

This has to be one of my all-time favourite cakes. I have yet to find another brand of cherry bakewells that match these. From the moment I open the box I know that I am about to have a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The aroma of almond strikes me instantly, not an overpowering aroma just a pleasant scent to excite my taste buds of the taste to come. Time to put the kettle on. Having made myself a coffee, settled myself in a comfy chair, I am ready to indulge myself. First I carefully tease the foil away from the cake, taking care not to break the soft and somewhat crumbly pastry. As I bring ... more

    Advantages Advantages Tastes Gooooooood!!!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Will make you fat if you eat too many

As most of you are undoubtedly aware, Mr. Kipling makes Exceeding Good Cakes! This couldn't be more true in the case of Cherry Bakewells! Packaging ----------------------------------- Cherry Bakewells are small cakes that come in boxes of six. The packaging is very appealing in itself; the box is bright and colourful and has a little window so you can see the top of the cakes. Upon opening the cardboard packaging a plastic tray of the six cakes slides out. It is covered by a clear plastic casing to insure freshness. Once the packet is opened a slight aroma of pastry and icing can be smelt ... more

Advantages Advantages Just a superb cake

Disadvantages Disadvantages Only if you don't like almond flavour

Yeah I know I've got a sweet tooth. You're probably fed up with my reviews on all things sweet. But this one's gonna make you want it so much. Lets get the minor details out of the road first, cos I can smell almonds in the background here and I'm getting hungry. Right these Cherry Bakewell come in a pack of six ( just like another well known product, which Proxam is much better at describing than I ever could.) They are 3 - 4 inches in diameter and about 1 1/2 to 2 inches high. At around £1.39 for the six they are a great buy. Basically they are little cups of pastry with jam on the bottom ... more

Having eaten 5 Cherry Bakewells in 24hrs I’m now a Cherry Bakewell expert. Legend has it that the Bakewell Tart was first created by accident in the nineteenth century in the town of Bakewell in Derbyshire. The story goes that one day a cook working in the centre of the town was making a jam tart and accidentally poured the egg mixture intended for the pastry on top of the jam instead. The customers enjoyed the new pudding so much that it then became a regular on the menu. Mr Kipling has taken this original recipe idea but added his own secret touches to make an exceedingly tasty Cherry ... more

Mmmm......Cherry Bakewells. I really fancy some at this precise moment, so I have just asked my boyfriend to get some for me on his way home. I will make sure the kettle has boiled for his return. I can't wait. I guess I will continue the opinion once I have eaten them ~ it will not be any good otherwise. Well I'll see you all in about an hour. I'm back and my tummy is filled, so I am ready to tell you about these delicious little cakes. Cherry Bakewells are made by Mr Kipling, who you all know 'makes exceedingly good cakes'. A statement I must fully agree with. The Mr Kipling brand make a ... more

Advantages Advantages Eating one is sublime

Disadvantages Disadvantages Eating six will make you sick

So there I was doing my monthly shop and for once I felt the nibble urge kick in. But what should I go for methinks I don’t want chocolate, mints or anything else like that I want that I can go back to at a later date. Something to enjoy, savour and that sates my sweet tooth. Cakes goes through my mind exceedingly good cakes… Now where are the b*****s!!! So off I head on a Kipling hunt (while trying to avoid any disasters Mr Kipling may have left behind him!) So dodging flying bouncy castles and a charging herd of pony’s carrying schoolchildren I finally reach my objective. The cake section ... more
