Advantages Advantages cheap to run, good fuel economy, low insurance

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

Very good car for new drivers, cheap to run, good fuel economy, low insurance and tax, very reliable. When I got my driving licence, on my driving instructor's recommendation I bought a Nissan Micra S which I owed for nearly two years.Never had any major problems with it. The only thing I changed on it in the 2 years I owed this car was the built-in casette-player/radio for a CD player. Driving this car is easy-peasy, the Nissan Micra sits on the road perfectly, I could turn corners with this nippy car much more faster than with my current car.I was really sad to let this car go, as the Micra ... more

Advantages Advantages decent build quality, cheap and reliable

Disadvantages Disadvantages some common faults could be costly to repair

The Nissan Micra is a cheap an affordable hatchback. I have a 1.0 model of which I found to be both fuel efficient and to a good build quality. On a good run 50MPG is achievable. There are however to all cars demise, commons faults. These are plagues with the Mass air flow metre failure resulting in limp performance and a kangerooing sensation whilst driving. These parts are expensive new but are obtainable via scrap yards for approximately £30 and quite easy to change even for the novice mechanic. Also some have noisey rattley engines on start up this is nothing to worry abou as these cars ... more

Advantages Advantages Economic, cheap, no problems

Disadvantages Disadvantages Won't impress your friends

I bought my beloved in January 2011, she is an R-reg 5dr 1.0ltr, bright turquoise blue and it was love at first sight purely because of her very unique colour. While my friends were being spoilt by their parents and getting new Fiat 500s and Ford KAs and Mini Clubmans, I settled for the humble micra. Being only £600 and at 96,000 miles on the clock I could not say no as she was in full working condition and I was a student on a very tight budget. There were a few mini nicks in the body work but its 14 years old, it couldn't be too perfect. The trade seller I bought it from often does up micras ... more

    Advantages Advantages Nippy, Cheap, Realiability

Disadvantages Disadvantages Driving a bit stiff, lack of respect from other drivers.

My nan bought one of these cars back in 2002 it was the 1.0 tempest version. One of the factors in purchasing this car was its price - it was only £7,000 and included sunroof, met paint and also it was an automatic. The great aspect of buying a nissan is its realiability - it never broke down since 2002 only requiring occasionally AA assistance because the battery needs recharging especially in bad weather nevertheless a very realible car - also very economical manages to do 40mpg+ but in urban areas expect 35mpg for an automatic. One downfall if it is a downfall is respect by other drivers ... more

    5 Stars GREAT CAR!!! 08/06/2011

Advantages Advantages Very cheap to run!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Not very fast

Hi guys. I owned one of these cars as my first car and haven't a bad word to say about it! It's a nice cheap first time run around and as it has a small engine, fuel consumption and top speeds are kept low! This alone saves lots of money. Even though the car doesn't have a top speed it's extremely nippy. Top speed to me doesn't matter as I have never had the intention to race in it. Inside is plenty big enough to have rear seat passengers in comfort. There is plenty of room. As for parts, never had a problem due to the car being so popular. They are easy to replace the parts and as a result ... more

    Advantages Advantages Great little runer

    Disadvantages Disadvantages no central locking

This was my first ever car and so it is very special to me. I wil begin singing its praises. Very comfortable inside and quite spacious in the front considering its only a little car. Not the same can be said for the back however, 3 seats but i would advise only have 2 as it is a bit of a squeeze. Really cheap to run on petrol, i never used to spend more than £10 a week and a used to go all over the place. one downside was no central locking, but that can be said for most old cars. i never had a problem with it breaking down or anything like that, totally reliable, i only sold her to upgrade ... more

Advantages Advantages Reliable, great to drive, inexpensive

Disadvantages Disadvantages No real disadvantages I can think of

Before getting into this review it's important to remember what this car is designed for. It has a small engine and is a small car with a relatively low top speed. It's far from being a supercar but it was never meant to be, it was only ever really meant to be used as a runaround car, and for it's purpose I think it's amazing. Furthermore I should probably tell you I am far from a mechanic, I don't understand a lot about the technical details surrounding cars and so this review doesn't focus on that. This review is probably more tailored to someone like me who cares about cars but is aware a ... more

Advantages Advantages cheap to run, easy to drive, cheap to buy.

Disadvantages Disadvantages It's a basic brum, the steering becomes heavy when the car is full and older cars will develop fau

I bought my 1992 Nissan Micra 18 months ago because I'd been driving a newer, more expensive car that I could no longer afford because insurance and petrol costs were just too high. I needed a basic, reliable and cheap car on a very modest budget of £600, so I logged onto Autotrader and started looking at cars… I decided that a Nisan Micra would probably suit me, because I’d read that they never break and that they are cheap to run. So I arranged to see six different Micras that were all different ages, with different mileages recorded on the clock. The cars really did vary in condition - one ... more

Advantages Advantages Economical, reliable, handles well, cheap, reasonably comfortable, good roadholding

Disadvantages Disadvantages Dosen't look great, basic kit, underpowered, not very fun compared to other small cars

This was and is my first car after passing my driving test. It is currently used by my mother and I and has been in our family since new for almost 10 years. It has only broken down twice, both of which were easily fixed. Nissan's reputation for relaibility holds up to its' name. Inside the cabin is reasonably comfortable, but the standard kit is basic and not much to write home about. The sunroof can be fun and the standard cassette player is reliable but dull, sound quality is average for small cars in this range. The car is very economical, averaging about 40mpg. Though this could be ... more

Advantages Advantages The looks and the fuel type is amazing and the insurance group.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not that much safety and the comfort.

Nissan Micra's come in a 1.0 litre hatchback they mostly come in 5 doors or 3 doors. The performance on the road is very nippy, 3/5 also the handling and the ride is quite the same. These Micra's are great insurance group is low fuel is great, on the otherhand the security isnt becuase some micras from 1994-1998 dont have any alarm or anything but ll models have plenty of airbags. The ownership is great buying and selling is easy and no hassle to sell these nippy motors are Quality & reliability many people gave the ownership a 4/5. These 1.0litre micras changed a lot from the 1900's till know ... more
