    Advantages Advantages A lovely story with beautiful pictured

    Keep it down Oliver This book was handed down to my little girl by her older nieces. There are both paperback and hardback versions available on amazon, with prices varying, but currently there only seem to be secondhand versions available. The front cover has a lovely owl on the front singing his heart out by the light of the moon, with the title in big letters - “Not so loud, Oliver!”. Just the cover alone gives you an idea of what the story may be about... The first time I opened this book I was surprised at what a quick read it is. Being a large book I expected a longer story.     Advantages Advantages Lovely bedtime story

    Tony Maddox wasn’t a children’s author I was familiar with but his is one of the books that B, aged 8, seems to want to read together quite frequently and, even though it’s quite a basic and straightforward story, I haven’t grown bored of it after repeated readings. The characters Set in a farmyard, the main character is Oliver, a particularly noisy owl. Most other familiar animals are there, including chicks, cows and ducks.
