    I have shopped at Pets At Home for 5 years or so; my oldest guinea pig was purchased from there. My local store is Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. I constantly see critique and insults on their facebook page and in the press, and I cannot understand why. My eldest piggy and eldest bunny are from there are they're healthy as anything. The pets in store are always looked after, in a safe environment, healthy, and well fed. My family and I shop in there at least once a week as we have a menagerie of animals, so we're very accustomed to the service and the staff. The staff are extremely friendly and ... more

    About four years ago I was making the journey to my mother in laws when I spotted a large pets at home store had opened near by. I had not personally heard of pets at home before but being an animal lover I could not resist popping in for a look at the various pets for sale. This visit turned out to be the first of many to the store as my first visit resulted in me leaving with a fury hamster friend. My first impressions of the store were very good it was large, airy and seemed well laid out.     Disadvantages Disadvantages Live animals kept in small spaces together when this does not always suit them I'm sure.

    The store I have two stores fairly local to where I live, one in Harlow & one in Waltham Abbey, and visit both fairly frequently being the 'parent' to a few different pets now. Both of these stores have different sizes available to them and therefore stock different products and different amounts of the products. I usually visit the Waltham Abbey store if I am wanting lots of advice on pets or products and the Harlow store if I am wanting to stock up on pet food, treats, toys and the like.     Before i met my girlfriend, I had never really been interest in animals, and now I live in a house with one cat, a fish tank and two rabbits. My girlfriend is a real animal lover, and when a Pets At Home store opened near by she was happy to say the least. Pets At Home stores are like a supermarket for all things animal related, they sell all animal foods, toys, beds, rabbit huthces, fish tanks etc...     First off let me just say I love visiting Pets at Home stores but then again i love visiting all pet shops and having a look round at all the treats/toys/animals. The stores are always well lit and organised (much like a supermarket) and stock a wide range of supplies making it a one stop shop for pet products. The staff are generally friendly and try to help when asked. However as much as I describe it as a 'supermarket' I'd also easily describe it as an 'animal supermarket' because in my view there is a large selection of animals available fish/hamsters/guinea pigs etc at reasonable prices ... more

    Our local Pets at Home is in Ruislip. It's really big and mostly has what I'm looking for. To top it off - they're happy for you to bring your furry friend into the store :) On occasion they even have a photographer to take paid for photos of your pet! I first developed an interest in keeping fish as pets, after gazing longingly at their well decorated fish tank displays. They sell a large variety of fish ranging from goldfish, the guppies, to neons. This area could use some improvement as there aren't many staff members who know a lot about fish and the store tanks could use some proper care ... more

    Pets at Home is a local superstore which stocks all the possible items which you would need for your pet be it a fish or a horse. I have a range of pets including dogs, rabbits and horses. When I visit the Pets at Home store I am always able to find the product I am looking for. I purchase all the needs of my pets in the store from feed to bedding to treats. The store also sell pets. The range available is extensive. Whilst I collect my pet shopping in the store my children are able to have a look at the pets on sale which keeps them out of mischief and enables me to find all that I need ... more

    As someone who has kept fish for over 30 years and runs their own specialist aquatic store, I'll go out on a limb here and say I think that Pets at Home really shouldn't be permitted to stock fish due to an overall lack of fishkeeping expertise in the stores. As I will try to justify later this is not a particularly 'biased' review, P@H is generally GOOD for my business, but it's a comment based on ethics and a concern for newcomers being misinformed about fishkeeping in general and starting off down the wrong road.     I'm sure you'll have heard of Pets at Home or Pets Smart as it used to be called. They are basically a pet shop super store which you can usually find alongside your other big super stores such as Currys and Mothercare. Products This store sells a wide range of products which makes it a very useful store as you can (usually) get everything you need for a huge variety of pets all under one roof. They sell essential items such as sawdust, hay, cages, food, flea treatments and many more as well as some rather random luxuries, yes they sell animal toys and some rather exciting looking animal ... more
