    Advantages Advantages Clear, crisp picture.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite deep, degauss when turned on.

This is a good CRT monitor and can be found at a very reasonable price at auction. 17" works best at a 1024x768 resolution with a 75hZ or more refresh rate. This monitor has a very clear, crisp picture, and a range of settings to set it up to your liking. Works very well for a gaming setup, I see no problems when laying fast-paced games such as UT2004, and DVD playing is also great. The only two problems I have with this monitor are the large depth (approx. 42cm) and turning it on. When you do so, the monitor degausses and makes a loud noise, not good for turning on quietly when needs be. If ... more

Is your size a bit too small, fancy enlargement? Then check out this 17inch high performance monster!!! Tech Specs ---------------- 17" screen size 1280x1024 resolution at 60Hz refresh rate maximum display. The next opponent weighing in at 33.0 lbs, the Philips 107E is fat and heavyyy. Dot pitch 0.23Mm. Design ------ As CRTs are, they are big and heavy. They take up a lot of desk space and you don't often feel like moving them around to suit the position you're in and this one doesn't try to make an exception. The casing is pure white and fairly solid. Air vents are dotted by the hundred on ... more

Advantages Advantages Cheap(ish), very short length, good quality

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not flat, technical support is in Sweden

I was looking for a nice pair of 17" monitors and stumbled across the Phillips 107E. As it's a monitor there's not much to say, but it's main feature (for me anyway) is that the length/depth (distance from front of monitor to the back) is shortest for a 17" monitor. So if space is a concern then this is a good buy. It has good saturation, brightness, etc. The On Screen Display(OSD) is easy to use and works well. Refresh rates are quite good for a monitor of this price range - I'm currently running at 1152x864 at 75Hz, and it's not bad! Of course there are a few problems. One is that it's not a ... more
