    Disadvantages Disadvantages It does take time out of your schedule, after reading, some may consider it a waste of time

    When reading poetry, often the mind wanders into ancient times when Shakespeare roamed the earth and mermaids swam freely from lagoons. No matter where you are in an earthly sense, reading lines of prose will sweep you off your feet and take you far away in your imagination, whether good or bad. Poetry really summarizes what emotions would be if they were visible, and it is a great way to jot down what a person is thinking in a lyrical sense.     For every century of reviews, I have published a piece of creative writing I’ve done over the years. For my 500th, I thought I’d do something slightly different. Still creative writing, but in a different form. I have mentioned it on here in the past, so some of you may know that writing song lyrics has been a hobby of mine for the best part of twenty years, but I’ve never published many of them online or elsewhere and now seemed like the opportune time.     As you may have noticed in my most recent profile picture, I was maid of honour for my best friend Issy and her husband James at their wedding in September. My fiance was also best man, and having not been allowed to listen to any of his speech before the big day, I couldn't help but pen this little poem to go in their wedding card. When it came to the actual day, I spoke to my fiance who kindly allowed me to read my poem out to the family gathered at the reception as a sort of toast at the end of his speech, which meant a lot to me as I felt it showed how much the pair mean to both of us.     I wrote this poem when I was 12 years old so that is why it isn't the best of the best. I wrote it for my brother Matthew , for his funeral. I'll tell you a little bit about what happened. In July 2007, Matthew was killed in a motorcycle accident. He was just 22 years old when he died. A week before he died was his first wedding anniversary which he celebrated with his beautiful wife Claire. They were happy and very much in love.     I don't know how to say it, I don't know how he'll feel, But I want to say I love him, And I know this feeling's real.     Advantages Advantages A lot of what we hear during the darkness is imagined!

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Silence and darkness help to prey on our fears.

    I wrote this poem late at night, when everyone else in the house had long heading off to bed. Sitting in the quiet living room with only the lamp on next to me, I started to hear the sounds that you would not normally notice when everyone is busy during the day-the creaks emerging from the house, the humming of the fridge, etc. Due to how unsettled I made myself feel, I decided to write a poem based on my experience, so here it is.     About The Poem I've recently just discovered this Ciao's Café section saw the creative writing section and got some mental excitement. After enjoying some of the work I've seen here I've been encouraged to share some of my own work to the lovely Ciao community. This poem was inspired by a video game Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials And Tribulations and focuses on the characters Diego "Godot" Armando and Mia Fey.
