    Advantages Advantages Virago always care about their book covers, this is no exception. Stunning and very appropriate

    I found that when I started to read this book I was transported to Cornwall - the story and the characters quickly caught my imagination and I couldn't put it down. The opening scene, when Rebecca arrives at Mandalay, drew me into the story line and I loved the way the tale slowly unfolded to end in a quite dramatic and unexpected way. If you have only seen the film I urge you to read the book. The book is much darker, Rebecca is so different to the weak character Holywood portrayed. She is a strong, physically plain, well rounded women. A very modern book despite being written many years ago ... more
