Advantages Advantages Fairly quick and easy to make.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Lots of pans to wash up after.

My husband hates fish, but knows he needs to eat more of it, and cut down on red meat. In an attempt to get him to eat more, I am trying to dress it up in as many healthy ways as possible, especially on a low carb diet (no potatoes, pasta or any fun stuff like that). I am rather bored of fish baked with tomatoes, so decided to try a lazy version of fish pie. I kind of made it up as I went so I can't give exact quantities. Basically, steam about three handfuls of fresh baby leaf spinach (frozen will work too but I only had fresh) according to the cooking instructions. Chop up and put in the ... more

This is a personal favourite. I first made the recipe after wanting to make my own, healthy bean burgers that had plenty of flavour. It tastes better than it sounds! Ingredients can be altered to your own taste, with excact measurements not strictly important. You will need: 1 large onion half a can of kidney beans (drained) half a can of chickpeas (drained) half a tin of tinned tomatoes half a clove of garlic 5 tablespoons of lemon juice half a courgette 6 tablespoons olive oil salt and pepper Optional: tablespoon or 2 of flour to thicken up the burgers. one large bowl one frying pan large ... more

I’m pretty unadventurous when it comes to fish, I aren’t that keen to try many new types of fish so for me it’s all about experimenting with the fish I do know and love, the main one being salmon. This recipe came around one Sunday Evening when I fancied cooking something a bit different for me and my girlfriend, it’s really simple but tastes great! Ingredients per Person: 1 Salmon Fillet 30g of Philadelphia 20g of Plain Flour 10g Butter 2 Tea spoons of Pesto Salt and Pepper I start by poaching my salmon, I choose to poach as it keeps the fish nice and moist, I’m a big fan of boil in the bag ... more

Advantages Advantages Quick, easy and I can make it myself

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

This reciepe is cheap and easy to cook. If you've read my other food related reviews you will know that cooking is not my greatest skill. Ingredients - Pasta Two sausages Cheese sauce Cheese Again I'll apologise now as there is no measurements in the recipe, with me it's all trial and error. The way to keep the cost of this dish down is to buy the ingredients either when on offer, shops own brand, or value ranges. For this I used Tesco value Pasta, chedder and sausage, and Bisto ready made cheese sauce. I can make my own cheese sauce but this was on offer at a ridiculous price. Instructions ... more

Advantages Advantages major crowd pleaser, great use of what can sometimes be a "dry" bird

Disadvantages Disadvantages cant be done in a rush, some time consuming preperation to the dish

A great dish for a dinner party, impressing new in-laws!! or even just for something that bit different. Great results everytime and a healthier and more economical alternative to red meat in my opinion. For ease get all ingredients measured and chopped e.t.c before starting. The stuffing and sauce can even be made a day in advance serves 4 2 oven ready pheasants (breasts removed/carcasses kept for sauce. you can ask your butcher to do this for you) 4 slices of cured ham 400-500g puff pastry (pre rolled ideal) 4 finger lengths of chicken liver pate/parfait stuffing 200g mushrooms finely chopped ... more

Advantages Advantages A rich in taste and a proper dinner!

Disadvantages Disadvantages the wieners are full of crap!

This dish got its name, during my colledge freshman year. Because I made it everyday, my roommate, being funny, asked: " Everyday menu?" And with that, the name was born. Its hard to find a similar dish, with the same ingridiants. But what is sure, is that its one of the best dishes Ive come up with. The base of this dish was, at first made up of wieners, pasta, tomatoes and cheese. The secret ingridient is something called "potatoe seasoning" the recipe is here. 1 Tbsp. Paprika 3 tsp. Salt 2 tsp. crumbled Oregano Leaves 2 tsp. Garlic Powder 1 tsp. Onion Powder 1 tsp. Chili Powder 1 tsp ... more
