Advantages Advantages Slim, great features, quick, easy to use and slim (twice, i know)

Disadvantages Disadvantages none to put you off it

A few weeks ago I was contacted by my mobile phone provider who made me an offer that I could not refuse. No, seriously, I’m not talking gangster rap here, it really was an offer that even I thought was a bargain. The package they offered had everything in it, as many SMS as I could handle with a lot of MMS thrown in, thousands of minutes chatting time and unlimited internet access on 3G. The reason for this offer was that they regarded me as a Loyal customer, which is nice, and considering that I have been with orange for so many years I think I should be given shares in the company, I was ... more

Advantages Advantages Beautiful 4" screen, music player, video recorder, great for internet

Disadvantages Disadvantages Battery takes an age to charge and would probably be better lasting longer

As upgrade time reared it’s head once more I decided it was just about time to forget about the low to mid range phones and cheaper contracts and go for something top of the range. While for many top of the range automatically equates to the iPhone, I’m a little different and have a huge dislike for the iconic Apple brand and was looking for something running the Android OS. With my previous three phones being Samsung, I felt it was best to stick to a brand I trusted and so I picked the Samsung Galaxy S2 as an upgrade from my Galaxy Europa. I received my phone free as part of a 24 month ... more

Advantages Advantages Great camera, user friendly interface, variety of features and applications, thin and comfortable.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages I don't like it's shape

Oh Samsung Galaxy S II, dreamed of you for so long :D. ~Exterior~ Let's start with the exterior of the phone, the things I like and dislike. Possitioning of the buttons and plugs: There is a big home button beneath the screen, I like this a lot, because for example in S III the home button is significanly smaller, which makes it hard to click while holdind the phone with one hand. On the right side, there is 1 simple button for lock, unlock and turn on and off functions. Something else, which I concider a minus is that the volume up and down buttons are placed on the left side of the phone ... more

Advantages Advantages Amazing design, loads of apps, so quick

Disadvantages Disadvantages Quite pricey but so what?

For a number of years now I have been a firm fan of Apple and their products, purchasing every iPhone that has been released including the iPhone 4. I am always amazed at them and never thought I could be persuaded into buying a different type of phone, but how wrong was I? My friend purchased this phone upon its release and had a difficult job getting me off it once she had it in hand. I am now in love! The Samsung Galaxy S II is the latest model of touchscreen smartphone that has been released by Samsung, having been developed from a slightly lower specification and older model, the Samsung ... more

Advantages Advantages EVERYTHING....better than an iphone in my opinion

Disadvantages Disadvantages Battery Life (or lack of one) is so annoying

Ok...so I am a bit of a snob when it comes to phones, but I am not a tech head. I like the latest and greatest! Since my first contract at 18, I found I quickly get bored of phones and constantly have two contracts going on because I have upgraded early to the next best thing. This makes my bank balance very unhappy.. Phones are bigger and better than when I first started out with my flashing Nokia 3220. (The one with the the dancing lights) The old favourite tetris was on there and the best game around was snake which would keep you entertained for hours. Ring tones were basic and very tinny ... more

Advantages Advantages Everything! So easy to use, does anything you want, lots of functions

Disadvantages Disadvantages Price.. but no more than any other smartphone.

Well, I'll start my review by stating this is my first smartphone, so I can't compare to any I've actually owned before, though I did look at a LOT before deciding on this phone. It's only been out a short while and so I've not had it very long, but I've had a play with enough of it to write a rounded review. First looks: No matter how much we like to say it's how it works that matters, I doubt looks ever are not a criteria for buying a phone like this. And I must say, the Galaxy S2 does not fall down. It measures a very sleek 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.5mm - making it as far as I can tell, the thinnest ... more

Advantages Advantages A great phone with 8MP camera / HD video and zoom facility, plays latest mobile games

Disadvantages Disadvantages The size makes it difficult to store safely

In February this year my wife (Sue) upgraded her old Nokia contract phone to a new Galaxy SII with O2. It was a simple choice when her contract ran out to move from an old archaic phone to a modern android design. In fact apart from the upfront fee of £80 everything else was relatively simple, certainly the price increased by a few £'s but compared to the previous contract she now had unlimited texts, 20 picture messages and 200 minutes for £16.50 plus an additional £5 a month for 500MB data. I do feel a bit jealous of Sue having this phone but to me for my use it probably is a little over the ... more

Advantages Advantages Can fully customise everything, loads of free aps, slim, looks really good

Disadvantages Disadvantages Battery life is very poor

Over the years I've had every type of phone you can think of. From the "brick" to the flip to the slide, to the touch to the blackberry. You name it I've had it. My contrract was coming to an end and now it was time for me to "get with it" and get myself a smartphone. To be honest I didn't have any knowledge at all of smartphones and what they did before I actually got one and started playing about with it. And I can tell you I'll never go back to using an ordinary run of the mill mobile. I chose the Samsung Galaxy SII at the time because it was new out and I wanted to get the most from my ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages short battery life and its so slim you can lose it in your pocket

I finally managed to get a contract phone 3 months ago and this was my phone choice. After much deliberation, about a years worth, this phone came out and it ticked all the right boxes. The phone looked good, it was fast, it had the latest android software, in-built memory and tons more. So I decided that I would take a voyage into the wonders of the galaxy and this is what I found. The first impressionWhen I first took the phone out of its box the first impression was good. The box itself was very basic, just a black box with some words written on it, but this just added to my excitement, as ... more

Advantages Advantages Large screen, excellent graphics and super fast

Disadvantages Disadvantages Too many updates, software issues, rubbish battery life

I honestly couldn't wait till my contract was up for renewal to get this phone. I've never wanted an Iphone, but was instantly drawn to this phone. I now totally understand why it was voted phone of the year in 2011. I had the Samsung Galaxy S2 in black for six months, but due to a 'common software problem', I was told the black one was out of stock, so I took the white one instead. Where the hell have I been all my life? Looks wise, the Galaxy S2 looks really simple, whilst being smart at the same time. It has a large screen, with 'Samsung' written in bold at the top. It is the slimmest and ... more
